Heroin I am a 24 yo girl. and i lost my Sex drive COMPLETELY :(

Hello, i am 24 years old. And to say it gently i used to be a sex maniac. I would have sex with a new guy a few times per week. Sex was a huge addiction of mine and i truly enjoyed it.

Well ever since ive tried heroin for the first time (1 year ago) my sex drive had slowly decreased. and now at this point its been 6 month since ive gotten any...
I am not always on H i take it every other weekend but yes i do go on binges sometimes.

I really want my sex drive back. I hate being this way, Sex was a huge part of my life.
Does anyone have any advice on this?
I would greatly appreciate it

Are you physically dependent on the opiates? I know a lot of people report increased sex drive right after withdrawal from opiates.

Maybe you are depressed due to your drug use.

I am physically dependent on them. And i feel pretty depressed when i go off them...
 
I think it may be an issue of depression then. I know that with males, opiates can lower testosterone levels, but when I searched to see if they lowered estrogen levels in females, I did not see anything that supported that.

I am not all to familiar with biology, so don't take these all as definitive answers.

Women tend to lose their sex drive when on heroin for a while compared to a guy who will still have some. I know this from talking to several people. Also, women tend to hit their sexual peak in their 30's, so the fun hasnt even started for you yet.

Opiates tend to blanket your feelings as you know.


As far as you being good looking, you could be lying & what not so a naked picture of your beautiful face & body would be go a long way so we could help you out further........:)
 
If you're physically dependent on opioids, that is definitely playing a role in your loss of sex drive. Getting off of the opioids will help, as well as looking at counseling if you feel any depression or anxiety symptoms persisting.
 
^^^ what he said...My wife and i used to have sex all the time...we have been hooked on oxys and roxis and xanax for 6 years and now we do it like once every 4 months.we have both lost our libido ..its definetly the H ..if you are young do yourself a favor and quit as soon as you can..this addiction only gets worse as time goes on. and will make you hate yourself..

What do you mean by it getting worse when ypu get older?
 
there is no female viagra, yet, so if H is lowering your sex drive your options are limited to stopped or, more realistically, reducing. I have very low free testosterone when I used, but it would rebound like crazy if I went into early withdrawal. I guess you could get your hormones checked and supplement whatever's low--I used a testosterone epidermal spray for a while.
 
yep its the opiates...when i was addicted i didnt even have the desire to have sex, opiates filled that need for me...what i did though was take the ephedrine/caffeine stack and that brought back my sex drive for a few hours...dont take it every day though..

and yes when i kicked nubain my sex drive went into maniac mode...i was hyper-sexual during the withdrawals believe it or not...didnt happen with heroin or oxy withdrawals though..
 
I know the feeling!

I have the same problem as you and I am a female.

I would suggest stopping opiates if possible at least for a while (a few months?) to see if it can be corrected that way. You might just thank yourself for this in the future whether it prevents a further addiction or just wakes up your sex drive.

I have been opiates Heroin, Methadone, and now Suboxone. Right now my Suboxone dose (8mgs) isn't holding me very well. I haven't had a sex drive since I started on Methadone about four years ago. Before that I had sex all the time and enjoyed it when I wasn't sick and desperate. I am engaged now and feel so bad because I hardly ever have sex with my fiancee. I am just totally uninterested, can't become interested, don't want to even be touched and trust me I feel so bad about it but I just can't help it. sometimes I tell myself I am just going to suck it up and do it but IT IS NOT THAT EASY.

I wish you luck in this I really do. Maybe when I am more stable on my Suboxone it will change, or maybe when I get off Suboxone in a couple months things will change for me. Either way I will be sure to let you know!<3

Well what can I say. Im like you, had a huge hunger for sex, a hunger that couldn't be satisfied. Some people would call it an addiction in it self, I call it loving life.

Anyway, that is one of the few sideeffects that I really hate about opioids, the fing lack of sex drive.
I have after some research (personall) come to the conclusion that Buprenorphine is the worst. It totally kills it.

Heroin - sure it lowers it quite a bit but not 100%
Methadone - that one i gotta get back to you on.

Im on Methadone Maintenence right now, all I have to do is tell my doc that I need Viagra or Cialis and he will write me a script.
But this far I haven't had the need for it, hope it stays that way because I have a while before I get to any satisfying dose. Who knows..

^ even if you don't feel like having vaginal sex with your fiancee, I'm sure he'd be happy with at least semi-regular head. it may be the last thing you feel like doing, but we all have to take one for the team sometimes when our sex drive is low. I know I don't feel much like going near my girlfriend when I don't have a sex drive, but even if my dick is useless from opiates or withdrawal there is more than one way to, er, stroke a cat.
 
sex addiction can ruin lives as any other addiction...the only plus is you dont get withdrawals, you can function without sex so to speak, cant even drink without opiates at least i couldnt...

strange with you guys in that when i was on opiates the opiates made me feel very content with life, i simply didnt need a girlfriend or sex or anything..i didnt need it so why would i miss it ya know?
