I know this has been discussed before, but I thought that some real life data might be interesting/useful to some of you

My friend started using hydromorphone injectable 3 months ago as a very opiote naive individual. Worried about tolerance she did some research and came across the naloxone/naltrexone microdose info. Naloxone was more readily availble to her so this is what this is based on. It took some trial and error to find the most effective dose, even a few micrograms too much and most of the high got reversed, too little and not much happened.

Stats: 200 lbs 5ft 5
uses hydromorphone 3-5 times per week as an IM injection
naloxone 16 ug combined with hydrom injection

With this combo she has been able to consistiantly get a very good high off of 2-3 mg hydromorphone each and every time she uses it!
Also, she experiences no withdrawal at all - not sure if this because of the naloxone, or the low doses used.

It has only been 3 months, but with the frequency of use I think that this is very promising.
I dont know if it would be of any benefit to reduce tolerance for people , but it definately is stopping it form progressing.

If your friend is actually you you can just say so ;)

I'm thinking this might be best suited to Other Drugs, since a lot of opioid users read Other Drugs.

I'm also going to change your thread title to more accurately reflect the content - you are not using it for tolerance reduction but tolerance prevention.

Flowergarden- I have been wanting to do this BADLY. I had some suboxone (prescribed a while back) and a few days ago I DILUTED one down to where I could get an appropirate dose, it doesn't seem to be working as well as I have read, and I think it may be due to the micro dosage of bupe that is in the subs. ALso, the bioavailability of oral naloxone is only 2 percent, so I may have to increase my doseage to make up for the poor bioavailabitliy. . I really want to get some pure naltrexone as well as pure naloxone and try out each of those at tiny doses at different times and see the results. Alas, I am too broke to go to a doctor to get this prescribed to me and I am very wary of online places that may sell this stuff, and since it is a "no no" to post sources in webforums, I am stuck with these subs. Has your friend ever tried the ULD using subutex or suboxone rather than the straight N? I would be very interested in hearing how that went. I'm also very glad to hear that someone else is doing this (at the same time I am) and I hope we can help eachother out.

My friend had only ever tried the straight naloxone, but the principal is the same - even with the bupe it should still work. You have to dilute it by quite a bit in order to make accurate dosing in the micrograms. So each 2mg/0.4mg tablet would have to be diluted in 10mls of water to give you 0.2/0.04mg = 40ug/ml of naloxone. If you start at 10ug dose, thats only 0.25mls. You could try rectal administration over oral for better absorbtion.

6 month update
-using 3-4 times/week
-tolerance has only increased to 3mg to get desired effect with 16ug naloxone
-went on a binge were it was used several times per day for several days-> max used was 4mgs, but started to lose its "magic" so took a few days off and now back to 2.5 - 3mgs/dose
