hydromorphone, oxymorphone ??

So today my doctor gave me hydromorphone even tho I asked to try oxymorphone, I am bad with trade names and didn't notice till after i got it. so anyways they gave me a new script for the correct opiate but omg the price of the opana is crazy. no generic and its like 58 bucks with my insurance and the hydromorphone was only 5 bucks. is it worth it? I mean the reason why I wanted the opana is because its half life is 9 hrs compared to the 2-3 of the hydromorphone. and i wanted to use the fact that my tolerance is really high. I snorted 16 mgs of hydromorphone and it just barely took me outta withdrawals. no high at all. since opana is only bio available at 10% if I snort them I might actually get some where. its ridiculous, they made oxymorphone in the first half of the 1900's, so beat that there is no generics!

Its because its pretty rare nowadays. They used to have a bunch of different preps of it and it was a fairly popular pain killer. I can't remember why but it fell out of favor and I believe they only produce pills now.

it seems like such a good choice, longer half life, much stronger, less itching, queasiness and sedation in some patients.
