6mg Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) IV – Second Attempt – Euphoric Paralysis
Okay a little background on the author. I’m a 20 year old make college student living the United States. My physical and mental health are both in excellent condition and I am not an opiate dependent or addict nor do I suffer from depression or any debilitating disease of any kind. I have no history of addiction. My reasons for using Dilaudid are strictly recreational, and I plan to keep it that way. I would like to do it again someday, but I don’t think this is addiction, I think this is the case with all things pleasurable. It's how you act on those desires that determine if you have a problem.
I do not recommend that anyone attempt to self-administer IV injections, especially without experience. This is a very risky method of administering (MoA) drugs, however it can also be one of the safest and best MoA it properly done. I attempted IV-injections ONLY after I thoroughly researched the topic of IV injections and spoke with real IV drug users to truly understand the process and harm-reduction steps. After about six months I developed enough faith in my own abilities and theoretical knowledge attempt it. I first started with black tar heroin, but realized this was a very risky drug to inject, especially for a beginner (abscesses from missed tar shots can get pretty infected and gross, plus black tar has been linked to flesh eating bacteria and wound botulism).
To anyone interested in educating themselves about IV injections, check out this link:

DRUGS USED: Brand Name: Knoll Dilaudid, Chem. Name: Hydromorphone HCL is a C-II (schedule 2) opiate antagonist used in the moderation and treatment of moderate to severe pain. It is one of the most clandestine opiates in the family, next to oxymorphone or fentanyl. In much the same way the codeine hierarchy progresses from codeine to hydrocodone to oxycodone, hydromorphone exists as the older brother of morphine and the red headed stepchild of oxymorphone. So as you can image, this is some fun stuff J.
SETTING/SET: My bedroom in my house, which I share with 3 other guys who have no idea I shoot and would most likely be totally against it. I was also alone at the time, as I find being around people who aren’t down with shooting up to be a serious damper on the mood. I would recommend that people only shoot in locations where they don’t run the risk of people busting in on them or getting nabbed by the cops. My room is perfect for this, even though I don’t have a lock on my door, but oh well some things don’t always work out. I felt good to begin with, no desperation, no unhappiness; just a genuinely good feeling about the coming experience.
Lets Get Started…
I received four 4mg Knoll Dilaudid pills (K4s) from a friend. That day I went out and purchased a 10-pack of B&D 29g Ultra Fine insulin syringe sand some latex tubing to use as a tourniquet. I got home and laid all my equipment out on my table: spoon, candle, matches, paper towels for my sterile work space, a couple rigs, some rubbing alcohol, cotton balls, some q-tips and my drugs.
T+00:00 – After thoroughly cleaning all of my gear with antibacterial-soap and water I sliced a K4 into 4 sections and placed it in my spoon. I then proceeded to suck up 30-40 units of water with my syringe and squirted it into the spoon to mix. I then placed the spoon over my lit candle and let it heat, while I crushed the mix with my syringe cap at the same time. This yielded a nice clear yellow solution which I filtered with a small piece of cotton from a q-tip and drew up into my needle. Okay so now my shot was ready, and so was I.
T+00:10 – I washed my hands and my inner elbow with antibacterial soap again to ensure there was no germs/bacteria on the surface of my skin. Then I tied my tourniquet with a slipknot to my left arm about 3” above my elbow. My veins became more visible and I picked a location to shoot my dope. I opted to go with the medial cubital vein at the bend of my left elbow as I think this is a good place for beginners to shoot because the veins are big, deep, and hard to miss. I cleaned the site with an alcohol pad and was ready to go.
T+00:15 – Here we go. I firmly gripped the needle with determination like a mass murderer at a Christian Coalition Conference. I broke the skin and registered my shot. The cliché slow moving crimson wave of blood infiltrated my rig like Vietcong spies. I then proceeded to push on the plunger thereby injecting the dilaudid. Going, going, GONE! It was all in.
WOAH, SHIT THIS IS CRAZY!!!!
Dilaudid is known for it’s initial rush, and my experience was definitely no exception. As the drugs entered my bloodstream I IMMEDIATELY felt a strong physical sensation emanating throughout my whole body. It felt like that orgasmic paralysis one experiences after they truly bust really really really hard. However, it did NOT feel like an orgasm as many people have described. It was just paralyzing in the same way a really good orgasm can be. If you’ve ever experienced this than you know what I mean.
I could move, but I didn’t even want to. I was totally content doing nothing at all. It felt a lot like the burn one would experience after working all the major muscles in their body extremely hard. Not painful, just overpowering and mildly paralyzing. This sensation slowly faded over the next 30 seconds and I began to itch and felt the euphoria of the opiates expand throughout me like an atomic blast. I was coming up and coming up hard for the next 5 minutes or so. After the initial rush and peak, everything was downhill from there, but it was still a very pleasant downhill ride. I didn’t even notice I was coming down until much much later, it didn’t even cross my mine while I was peaking. I truly felt amazing in a very physical and mental way. Opiates truly possess a unique quality I have yet to experience on any other class of drugs.
T+00:45 – I wasn’t coming down, but I figured I could handle more than the initial dose and would like to see how much higher I could get. I didn’t get too fucked up to begin with, so I wasn’t worried about overdosing, but to be safe I decided to shoot another half of a pill (2mg). I cooked it up, loaded it into my rig, and shot it in an adjacent vein at the bend of my left elbow. I experience the same sensation, all be it, a little less intense than the initial rush. The booster shot just kind of gave the post rush effects of the drugs some legs to run enabling it to last longer but didn’t really intensify the experience all that much.
The whole experience lasted about 4 hours for me, with the best part falling under the one between the T+00:15-01:45 period. I felt extremely energetic, talkative, and euphoric much the same way I have felt on about 80mg Oxycontin insufflated.
Final thoughts…
Dilaudid is thoroughly enjoyable indeed. While I don’t feel the need to go and fix right away, I do desire to try it again someday but I’m in no rush. I would recommend Dilaudid to anyone who already shoots and to those of you who don’t shoot, I wouldn’t recommend shooting anything, but if you must shoot something I don’t think Dilaudid will let you down. However, just be warned that it is extremely expensive and is over pretty quickly compared to a lot of other drugs. Just be sure to get the Knolls because the generics are known to gel up and aren’t bootable, at least not as easily.
