So I’ve posted once before about 3 months ago about kratom withdrawal and here I am back again. Last time I had been taking hydrocodone a few times a week and basically kratom everyday I wasn’t taking hydrocodone. I experienced withdrawal for the first time and it scared me. I came out of the worst of it and was about a week clean before I started back on hydrocodone pretty much everyday (like 3-5 times a week in the first month and almost everyday in the past two) I’ve been taking anywhere from 20-30 mg of hydro only at night when I’m winding down. So here I am again going through withdrawal because I’m sick of the hold it has on me and I want to be a better person for my family and girlfriend who I have selfishly been putting second behind my secret drug habit. So to get to the point my last dose was thanksgiving night and started getting symptoms on Friday night without them. It is now Monday and I’m scared because my anxiety is still so bad I’m afraid I have fucked my brain chemistry because I already have anxiety. I still have a few physical symptoms too which I am less concerned about because I know they will pass and aren’t too unbearable at this point. Can anyone give me some insight as to what I might be looking at here. Any replies are welcome I’m just freaking out here. Much appreciated guys. (I forgot to mention that for the week leading up to thanksgiving I stopped taking the hydros and was taking a mixture of codeine and tramadol instead because I got them for free. Idk if that would make a difference just wanna give all the info I can)

I would think you have anxiety because you are sober now and you really arent use to being that way.
Just try to take it easy. This too shall pass.
Sorry, I'm not much help.

Try some black seed oil - nigella sativa
L-tyrosine
L-glutamine
C0Q10
B vitamins
Meditation
Yogurt
Ginger
Turmeric/curcumin + bioperine/black pepper
L-Tryptophan

These are just a few supplements that could help, and of course the typical things like excercise + hydration + staying fed
Get some protein powder to mix into drinks if you have any trouble keeping food down

Try to distract yourself by reading some wikipedia. Books about spiritualism have helped keep me soberish. Whether it's Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, etc. These things could help.

Don't forget about 12 step meetings + or Refuge Recovery, Smart Recovery, Celebrate Recovery, and others.

Your brain is not messed up. You would need to dose huge amount of opiates for 10+ years for that.

But 3 days in, sounds like you are doing pretty good. Give it at least 10-14 days and you should be feeling like a new person.

The supplements mentioned, along with good food and exercise are critical. I would add l-theanine too. It will help relax you.

Have never tried it, but kava seems like it could be a miracle for opiates.

Meditation / Deep Breathing too. Praying too if thats your thing.

No drinking, no benzo, no kratom. They will not help you. It seems you already went that route and have seen. Simply because they are physically addictive alone, and even a use or two could come along with a hard rebound (and hell, just a week of benzos in opiate withdrawal will be enough to cause the start of a dependency).

Will the black seed oil just ease my symptoms or will it draw out my withdrawals?

Thanks for the reply man! And hey I just asked the other guy but do you know if the black seed oil will just ease my symptoms or if it will draw out this whole process and make me feel like shit again once I stop taking it in a few days. I’m about to go buy some right now if the former is true that’s why there’s an urgency for an answer. Thanks!

I have personally never tried it.

Given its a non opiod. I think you should be OK.

It does seem to increase GABA (probably your concern). Will wait for deficit to reply.

Worst case you can try it. And if it gives too much relief, then I would be cautious.

EDIT: Found this. I think you will be good.

One of the main reasons I asked is because I have gabapentin and took it the first two days of my withdrawal and then yesterday and today I haven’t taken any and my symptoms seem like they got worse after I stopped taking them but that could be all in my head. And I was afraid that it was going to prolong these withdrawals which is the last thing I want I’d rather just go without. But thank you for the insight!

What works for me is using of loperimide (imodium), gabapentin, some tylenol, and Clonidine. I've found the loperimide to be GODSEND when I'm in withdrawal. Takes the edge off when I'm suffering.
