My iPod app medscape says hydrocodone and benadryl have 2 reactions. It says benadryl increases effects/sedation by the liver enzyme cyp2 or wat ever and it also says it decreases the effect of hydrocodone? Should benadry be aken before, with or after the hydrocodone for the best potentiation?

Diphenhydramine will increase the effects of hydrocodone, so be careful not to overdo either of the substances. You will want to take the antihistamine approximately 30-45 minutes before taking the hydrocodone to get the best potentiation.
