How to take methadone?!?!?

I have half od a methadose wafer. Im going to be withdrawaling form morhine starting tomorow andit is going to suck ass. How long should I wait to take this methadone and how do you take it? Its been such a long time wince I have messed with any Methadone I cant remember thank you all
 
I'd imagine you just take it orally.
Take it when you can't go through withdrawals any longer, until they're seriously getting bad. It's always so much nicer to come out of horrid withdrawals than very slight ones.
 
I was on MMT for roughly 3 years.

How long were you using the Morphine and how much have you been using recently?

How do you take a wafer? Swallow it.

Takes nearly 2 hours to kick in so don't take another dose of Morphine after an hour thinking that it won't work. It'll kill your withdrawal symptoms for nearly 24 hours.

Wait for as long as you can before taking it. Until you can't take the symptoms anymore to the point that you can't function at work.
 
ive never heard of WAFER'S???

anyhow, im on Methadone , have been for 5 years and Heroin before that for 10 years

best to wait until you feel really bad - no less than 24 hours after last dose of Heroin/Morphine...

If your just on £10-£20 worth of Heroin a day then that 40ml will be enough... however, if you have a massive habit you may need more...

they used to say that you get 10ml for each £10 bag of Heroin you have per day... so 6 bags a day would equate to 60ml Methadone 1mg/1ml

But

that was many years ago when street heroin was of much higher quality than it is now... now your lucky if you get Heroin more than 1% pure, my friend who has been injecting it for 15 years says it does nothing now and his Methadone holds him - it went that way for 1 year for me before i decided to rap it in - smoking it would just yield a sore throat and bad head - injecting it wouldnt be much better either....

I done a full withdrawal off Heroin using Methadone in Jail and it worked really well and went like this:-
after £40 day habit I had nothing for 48 hours and i was really cold-turkey, then 30ml of Methadone sorted me out and even gave me a buzz..... this was reduced 5ml every 2 days until you finished... it worked a treat - slight withdrawal afterwards but managable
 
thanks for your response. It is half of a 40mg methadose wafer. I have a very high toelrance to morphine. I usually snort about 150mgs in the morning when I wake up. I feel a slight body buzz but thats about it. If I dont do anythign else I will start Feeling the sickness by the time I go to sleep that night. On top of the morphine I snort as much Oxycontin or Roxi's as I can get a hold of. i have heard of letting the wafer dissolve in warm water then drinkin gthe ixture?!?! Is this good? I dont know I am out of morphine and i have a 40mg Oxy to do in the morning so wish me luck my fellow blurlighters and please let me know what you think yo

1. Methadone 40mg 'wafers' may not be available in Europe. Wafers are slain for the Methadose Diskets. They have been taken off the market in the U.S. as well with exception of Methadone clinics.

2. I was also on MMT for about 3 years after about 8 years of heroin and pain killer addiction. In the U.S. they don't measure dosages by equivalent Heroin habit. Many people aren't even there for Heroin. You begin at a certain dose and usually after each visit you talk with the nurse and they will keep increasing your dose by either 5mg/5ml or 10mg/ml until you no longer feel withdrawal symptoms or cravings. Some clinics dispense the flavored Methadone but most dispense the unflavored clear stuff. For the majority of time I was on 120mg (3 wafers). Diskets were only dispensed if requested.

3. The original poster was asking about his Morphine habit, not Heroin. In response to KrisTheGreat, a daily habit of 150mg Morphine + OxyContin would require the entire 20mg of Methadone that you have got. With your habit the Oxycodone won't hold you for long and probably keep you up all night with withdrawals without another dose due to short half life. Try and fight through the night and take it the following morning. You can mix it in warm water if you'd rather not take it in pill form. It won't hit you harder or anything if that's what you are expecting. Also with your habit, don't expect a buzz or high. It'll keep the physical withdrawal symptoms at bay for the rest of the day and probably get you a night of sleep.

Good luck, I feel for you brother. Opiate addiction is a tough ride through life. Hopefully some day you'll be able to slow down and decide to kick the habit. I started at 13 with pills. Eventually my daily pill habit became so expensive so took my friends advice and turned to heroin at 17. Heroin was much cheaper than my previous pill habit. Living near the border of Mexico, grams went for only $50-$60 and the purity of tar Heroin was high. I obtained a much larger habit for much cheaper so then turned to Methadone at 22. After so many attempts getting off it and going through worse withdrawals that lasted longer than any other opiate, I decided to quickly taper down to 30mg so I could THEN switch to Suboxone detox last year at 25. Now at 26 I've been clean for nearly a year. Half my life I've been dealing with opiate addiction and for the rest of my life I'll be fighting it but it gets better. sorry, i forgot it was for morphine and didnt realise he was in U.S. (hence i never heard of wafers)

- in UK they relate the habit (well used to) like so - £10 bag-per-10ml BUT they STILL titrate you (start you low and up your dose once or twice a day 5ml/10ml until you report stability) - they just used to use your habit as an indication of how much you may have to be on.. for e.g. if you had a £30 day habit but were still titrating on 100ml+ then they may suspect that your lying to them or faking withdrawals to get as much Methadone as possible....

I got off my Heroin using a 14day MMT program in jail , unfortunately 6 months later i was back to square one - I have been clean of drugs for many years now but i still have this methadone to deal with and it is harder to get off than heroin (apparantley)

in UK the quality of street heroin in past 5 years has been absolutely poor.... and was mainly what pushed me into quitting...

Hopefully you can split it into 2 or three doses to keep from WD'ing. How much morph a day someone takes is the question to how much m/done to take.
 
You're question has been answered here already, but I just want to throw this in there just to kill some temptation cause I haven't seen this mentioned yet. Don't try to rail, it's one of the worst things I've ever railed...not to mention the sheer amount of powder in there. And IV would just be too much. I'd just take it orally and wait, Methadone is...well has always been...one of my favorites. Careful with it, I got worse WD from Methadone then I ever did Heroin or OxyContin
 
i should also add that withdrawals from methadone are renowned to be the worst ...
i here lots of users say it gets right into your bones (whatever that means) and it doesnt matter if your coming off 10ml or 100ml withdrawals are just same...

lucky me - im on 130mls daily and have this all to come - my planned route is to get down to 20ml then switch to Subutex then reduce that and come off that... i heard its easier to come off
 
^ Yes, methadone is the worst WD I have ever felt, I was sick, puking, and useless. For about a month. But don't get me wrong OP, the WD you won't get from 1 or 2 uses. I only ever felt even a mild WD after 3-4 days of use straight. Even with one day in between you won't get that. Just don't do it too much in a row.
