(answered) how to post pics/videos on bl

Try this but without the .
.[.img]http://www.yourIMGurl.com[/.img]

And for video, type
.[video]www.videolink.com[/.video]

Remember take out those 'periods' ([in these boxes]), i needed them to show you what to type..
 
you can remove all that "type this but without the period" confusion using the vbulletin [noparse][/noparse] tags.

e.g. typing this: [noparse][img]http://alasdairmanson.org/bluelight/dawsoncryings.png[/img][/noparse]

posts this in your post: [img]http://alasdairmanson.org/bluelight/dawsoncryings.png[/img]

which produces this when somebody copies and pastes it:

dawsoncryings.png


make sense?

I can only do links, but in the music threads people have the song in the thread, not just a link, wondering how i do it like that, are ye bith on tablets? The top of this site says blbluelight mobile btw xxxRachelxxx

you type the url of your image, surrounded by [img][/img] tags.

so if you type this in your post: [img]http://www.bluelight.org/vb/customavatars/avatar35021_65.gif[/img]

you'll get this:
avatar35021_65.gif

I'm confused with all of the above. Any time I've put a photo up I've chosen a specific package (not sure if I'm allowed to include names cause of advertising etc), uploaded the photo to that site, then clicked and copied the link to the uploaded photo. Then I've opened up Bluelight, specific thread / post and pasted in said link. click "post quick reply" = pic up.

good point. if you are using the advanced editor, you can also just click the 'insert image' icon and paste in the image url:

insertimage.jpg
