Hi, blue lighter friends.

I just wanted to see if I could seek out some advice. My husband is going through a withdrawal/detox from suboxone, which he had been on for the past two years (8mg/day). He is on day 14 and has quit cold turkey after losing his health insurance and having a break from work. It has been a really hard, painful couple of weeks for us, but he is doing great and I am so proud of him.

He started off with "The Thomas Recipe". Now he is exercising more, drinking passionflower tea, and trying to keep his mind working as he gets through it day by day. I suggested he start going to NA meetings and he was really open and passionate about the idea and will attend his first meeting this week. Hope this will help him going forward, knowing he is not alone.

Today, after asking how he was feeling while I was at work, my husband says: "Not good. Really weird day. The plumber is here fixing the shower and I am stuck upstairs. I'm definitely in the post acute withdrawal phase. I worked out and went for a walk, but i still feel like I don't want to do anything. :(" He attributes how he is feeling to being stuck inside in the bedroom all day, but I want to know how I can support him through PAWS not matter how long it takes. I've researched a lot about it online, but I feel that it would be better to get some insight from those of you who have actually been through it or are currently supporting a family member/friend through this kind of thing. What can really do to help? What symptoms/experiences should I expect from him through this time? How long does PAWS typically last for a suboxone detox?

Any and all of your insight is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
