I actually have two questions.
First one is how to find a good mental health provider. I have health insurance. Humana. But there are so damn many providers that I just don't know how to pick a good one. I don't want to just pick one like you pick lottery numbers. How do you guys pick health care providers in general, not just mental health ones.
Second question: As far as mental health therapies, what is available. I want to really try and get rid of some of my mental health problems and I want a good way to do it. But I just don't really know how. I will go to a psychologist and a psychiatrist, once or twice a week. But that is totally not enough for what I am dealing with. How do I find group therapies? Where do I get this kind of info.
Info about meds would also be helpful. I am not that into taking meds, I'd rather do it without them, but the situation is pretty bad so I am willing to go with anything. I also have chronic main issues and I am on methadone for that, 50mg daily. I have been pretty suicidal daily and I don't want to leave my little girl motherless like I were. I want her to have a happy mommy so she grows up to be a happy person.
Thanks so much for any info you guys provide me. I am going to get a YMCA membership since working out helps out depression. I also want to work on my diet. I have a child now and I want to be the best mother I can for my little girl. This is my biggest motivator. I also have the best husband I could ask for. But unfortunately I had some pretty messed up childhood.
Ok enough about me. Please give me suggestions for how I can work on improving my mental health. I am already starting to meditate and pray. Anything is so so welcome.
Thanks BLers.
how about diet?
