My boyfriend has been throwing up a lot when rolling, sometimes it doesn't even allow the roll to take effect. We believe it could be his nerves. Is there any way to stop the vomiting so he can roll again? He HAS rolled before, but only a total of 4 times, all with me. every other time he's tried, it's been a very messy affair. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

That's not a good sign at all, ever thought he could be allergic?

If his bodys rejecting it that much then pumping more into his system can't be good.

Take antacids with it. They should settle the stomach.

Or he could try plugging. That way he won't have to worry about vomiting it up. There's a million threads on it.

I always preload with the herbal supplement ginger root extract, I have found that it helps immensely. I always take ginger when I am doing psychedelics as they are usually pretty hard on my stomach. I think ginger root works like a charm.

^^^+1 on the ginger. I also find marijuana is a very effective anti-emetic, but some people don't like mixing it with MDMA.

All good responses so far, I would definitely say plug it though.

As for pot, I find that it takes my mind of the fact that I've just ingested this little pill that in...oh....34 minutes should be making me feel amazing and if I'm not feeling good then, something must be wrong.

MDMA does not usually induce vomiting or nausea.

The drug to prevent nausea/vomiting, eg caused by DXM, is metoclopramide. It accelerates transit through the stomach by pushing its contents into the small intestine. It should only be taken if one is certain not to have swallowed something poisonous. I've tried it with DXM, in fact would never do DXM any more without it because of the puking. It works.

It is compatible with peptic ulcers, indeed is part of peptic ulcer treatment.

Wikipedia classifies it a a "dopamine receptor antagonist" though. I'm not sure what this entails as far as interactions are concerned. It could dampen the effect of MDMA, provided it can make a difference at anti-emetic doses.

plug them, smoke a bowl of some good weed, and do something to take his mind off the fact he is coming up (have some sex, happy v-day everyone, -1 to me for being late)

what are you talking about? this is one of the most commonly asked questions in ED...there are dozens of threads out there about it, in fact here is a relevant quote from Gen E in a recent thread:

have her try plugging the pills/doses. this method bypasses the digestive system so it will be less likely that she'll throw up.

serotonin is also responsible for the function of "throwing up" so a flood of the chemical in her body could be overloading her causing the body to want to get rid of it. also, when she takes the dose/pill, have her not drink so much water to get it down. the taste is horrible i know and you just want to rid your mouth of it but sometimes too much water/fluid can cause you to throw up. i've experienced this a few times although i haven't ever thrown up, just gotten very nauseous.

Yeah antacids(herbal or chemical) seem to be the best bet if he doesn't want to plug.

Re: ginger root: what's the appropriate dose, and when should one take it?

It can do. Maybe not in all cases, but plenty of people experience nausea on MDMA - I certainly have (and I'm talking about pills that were tested as MDMA). Some people throw up from MDMA.

wtf ok explain how i have feel the urge to vomit on every comeup i've every had and tbh i've had about 150 pills over the course of 3 years to date. know thats one persons experinces but information take over the years has told me thats not uncomman or strange

basically lol

The thing about antacids is that they usually make me roll a lot harder... but do calm my stomach.

Usually the coming up of pills makes me feel sick... sometimes I can manage not to puke but sometimes I cant handle it. Going outside for some fresh air and doing slow, deep breathing when I start to feel kind of icky helps me calm my stomach down. And stay hydrated!!!! Sometimes a good swig of water will help calm my stomach.

maybe he's thinking to much about the roll and anticipating to much to happen and he gets exciting and throws up. happend to a friend of mine a few times. He was very excited to roll, took the pill and puked it up. One he learned to relax, he's been fine since.

Just chill out, I know a few people who tend to throw up when coming up. I've never thrown up from pills ever.

You either need some antacid pills, or you just need to calm down. The reason my friends tend to throw up is because they get into the 'OMG IM COMING UP OMFG OMFG IN COMING UP OMG YAY' state of mind.

Just chill out 'n let it take ya.

I know what you mean with those initial biccie spews but if you're vomiting more than a few times it's not really a matter of calming down. I've had pills make me vomit on and off for over 2 hours because my stomach is sensitive. It can't be controlled at all. Haven't yet tried ginger or antacids. So hopefully they will help.

I have some anti-nausea tablets (like Maxilon and Stematil) does anyone know if these are helpful?? thx

These all may be right answers.
But we need the right question, how does MDMA cause nausea.
a. if its just by being in the upper gi tract, then keep it out and plug or snort it. Or as xxl said metoclopramide may work by moving it along quickly.
b. it might be the released serratonin acts either on the gi tract or elsewhere to produce nausea. In that case you would have to take an effective anti nause medication to try to combat it.
c. some say an empty stomach can contribute. In that case eat more, b4 rolling, come up may be slower.

anyone think of any other reasons

Ginger seems to help a great deal, at the least it has for me. I will get a strange burning sensation when the pill hits my stomach and then boom, no nausea, if I take ginger an hour before.

I almost always wanna throw up. How long before rolling do you think you should take antiacids and will any brand do? (any UK brands suggestions?)

If I understand correctly, part of the reason is that serotonin is released in the GI tract - so even plugging will not totally prevent nausea.
