Im just curious, and was wondering what the side effects are of frequent use.....
please be specific in your personal experiences with how ofted you have used it and what your experience has been....
Thank you

A few months ago I was what you may call an "LSD Junkie", I tripped too often and for the wrong reasons. Three and four times a week, days in a row, it was ridiculous. I wasnt getting any sleep, and it showed. I cant pinpoint any certain effects of heavy LSD use... but personally I can say that it made me very disconnected from reality and the real world. I then figured out acids something thats better when its used only occasionally. It makes the experiences that much more powerfull. I hope this helps you out.

I find that people who do it more than once a month start to feel acid's permanent effects. So I'd say once a month at the most.

What permanent effects?
------------------
"So modify this third rock from the sun, by painting myraids of pictures with the colors of one"

when you start to think that the Honda Civic driving behind you is really an undercover car following you..radioing in your position as police cars and DEA vans get into position to launch an ambush on you...they even got the giant robot butterfly to help aid your capture...as the butterfly assaults you with rainbow drops of acid which are now eating a hole in the roof of your car while the swat team comes around and surrounds yer car...you finally realize that you don't like the song on the radio and so you change it...and the sun is shining again...
then you know you been doin acid too much...

do enough acid until you think that your losing touch with the real world, and that your entire reality is dissolving around you in a brilliant blaze of self pity and confusing self awareness...then, do some more and you'll figure out that "reality" and "the real world" is a crutch...

There are negative effects that come from the first use, the second use, the third use, the fourth use, etc.
It is all cumulative damage, a VERY little bit of it at a time, but it is still relevant.
I would imagine, that contrary to the tendency to predict, the first trip would be the most damaging, and each individual trip after that would do progressively less damage.
So basically, you are the person who needs to decide how much is too much for you.
At what point do the recreational/spiritual/emotional/educational/interpersonal/other benefits of doing lsd outweigh the physiological and psychological losses?
Each and every time you dose, you need to ask yourself, 'Is it worth it?'.
When the answer is no, then that is too much.
Personally-- I don't see what you have to *gain* after the 20th trip besides a few hours of entertainment, and the losses and risks and costs are as heavy as ever.
And by that point you should have had a chance to try all the doses you want to, to have done it with all the people you want to, to have done all the things while on it that you wanted to... I don't see any reason to exceed that.
Thats really a serious psychological cut-off in my mind between 'I am a normal person' and 'I am not a normal person'.
Good luck not destroying your emotional health. (Seriously).

Kid- What makes you think trying to explain the permanent effects of lsd would be any easier than explaining the acute effects?
With the ADDED problem that the first permanent effect of any drug use is the inabillity by the user to recognize the permanent negative effects of drug use.
(And no, I'm not kidding. Its kind of like how when you fall in love you have trouble even NOTICING the negative aspects of the target.).
Imagine a 17 year old girl who is using too much speed-- 'I've got so many more friends now. I've lost so much weight. Guys like me so much more. I have so much fun. It feels so good. I love doing speed.'
Never mind the fact that she has spent over a thousand dollars, turned into a slut, lost her amazing b/f whom she loved, made her parents upset at her, dropped out of school, racked up a LIST of slef-esteem lowering incidents, defined herself as an addict in the eyes of EVERYONE she knows, is suffering from depression, has developed an aversive personality, and overwhelmingly messed up her life.
But you should see how happy she is to have lost 20 pounds. (Never mind the fact that she looks MUCH worse than she did before).
The permanent effects are specific to the individual user, as are the acute effects, but are overwhelmingly negative in any case, if only because they make one different from (and therefore less likely to get along with) the general population. And getting along in the world is key to developing positive interpersonal relationships which are very important to long term happiness.

Good Corruption: That sounds a lot more like methamphetamine induced psychosis than using too much lsd...

The most damaging effect of using too much LSD is that many of the effects sought after by taking the drug will diminish. In other words, taken too often, any drug loses its magic.
LSD, otherwise, is very forgiving even with frequent abuse. Many that I have known who have done this are unscathed by their experiences. However, that losing touch with reality thing is a problem, and be careful if you have any issues with self esteem or other baggage. These things can be amplified and haunt you.

If your family has a history of mental illness you can drop a tab and "never come down". My grandfather is a psychologist and worked with people in the 60s who had this happen. In fact, hallucinogenic drugs helped to trigger my uncle's schizophrenia (spelling?). I have done a lot of acid and mushrooms(bad idea, seeing as my uncle is schizophrenic) and now I hallucinate every time I smoke pot. It also gets stuck in your spine and you trip when you crack your back, haha just kidding, that is a huge myth. As with any drug, know the effects and be careful.
peace

Like all drugs, if it makes you uncomfortable or paranoid, etc. do something else! Maybe LSD isn't the drug for you. I have never had a paranoid episode on LSD, I used to get those while i was straight

The most common effect i get is laughing at the normal stuff around me or what people say, basicly the real world and now that i think about it i do that straight too, just not so hard.

Ozzy Osbourne says he took acid every day for a year and ended up a "trembling mass of nerves". But like everything ozzy says that's probably horseshit.
John Lennon apparantly took so much acid that for a while he could only see in black and white.

OK dont flame me if im wrong, but i heard somewhere that the drummer for Pink Floyd took so much acid he doesnt remember being in the band. Is that true or a load of shit?
Peace

Yes dxm, that is true, he was in the original Pink Floyd, they later replaced him after he went nuts. I forgot his name though...

Ok I know this is off topic but im a huge Pink Floyd fan, hehe. It was actually the singer, his name was Syd Barret. Large amounts of LSD over a long period of time aided his way into insanity. Hes a pretty whacked out dude now.

Ok, people can find links to studies that claim to show damage cause from E or other drugs. That doesnt surprise me much. But would someone who quoted brain damage please include a link to validate your claim.

I wouldn't worry. A couple years ago, I was doing acid about two to three times a week for a few months straight, and look at me, I turned out completely fine. I'm graduating from UCLA next Spring. The only thing you might want to keep in mind is when you do it as often as I was doing, your tolerance for it sky-rockets, and it will stop affecting you. It;s probably better to wait at least a week in between trips. But thats just my opinion.
