How much is too much (ritalin)

That's entirely based on the individual, as the LD50 is likely higher than the amount required to induce a psychotic break or some other complication.

If you think you're having problems, contact emergency personnel immediately.
 
The LD 50 IV is 40mg per KG, and otherwise is 170mg per kilogram.

That said you don't want to get ANYWHERE near that dose...
 
In addition to my daily script I snorted about 15 mg's today. I just wanted to know before I fuck everything up you know?
 
If you take them for a therapeutic benefit i would not recommend abusing them like this.

Sounds like you are keeping the dases safe though. Personally I wouldn't want to take much more than 40mg methylphenidate.

As soon as I get a new psychiatrist I'll no longer have adult ADHD. The guy is a quack. but thanks for the limit :)
 
A friend is a schizophrenic. He was said to have been prescribed for 40 x 20mg Ritalin per day and up to 60 x 20mg at one point by this doctor. He did have difficulty getting his scripts filled as pharmacists would freak out and wanted to call the authority. His massive dose of Ritalins made it possible for him to work as a top programmer at this one of the biggest bank in the world and made 100K + for some 10 years... until the said doctor lost his license and then soon disappeared and died from cancer. Apparently he was giving out similar massive doses to his other patients as well.

Well, that really screwed my buddy up because what little "normal" doctors after that prescribed didn't even compare to what he was used to getting for the past 10 years. He's totally lost touch with reality since then, lost his family, house, disability and insurance from his former employer because his wife called 911 once and he ended up in jail for domestic violence, which did not happen; his wife didn't speak hardly any English and somehow if became domestic violence case. He served 9 months in a mental hospital.

Anyhow, I never saw his 40 to 60 x 20mg per day Ritalin script myself (or should I say i never paid attention back then) and now that I take ritalin/adderall myself, I'm just wondering whether such high dose Ritalin sript even possible? All the people who were around say that it is absolutely true. He was getting Haloperidol shots at the time.

The gent I bought my car off of was taking 240mg/day of Adderall. He's head of 'Honda in the Middle East" - the type to wear jeans and a car teeshirt to board meetings where literally everyone else was in a multi-thousand dollar suit. Aka he was the boss man haha.

But yes, he was on an absurd dose of adderall, and by his mid-30's had retired due to working 100+hrs/wk (he had a lot of mental issues), a comfy millionaire.
