For about the last couple of months it's gotten to where I sleep about 14 hours most days.I sleep 10 hours every night,Come home from work at 12 most days, eat and take a 3 or 4 hour nap until I have to go back to the gym at 6.I love it.But at the same time I feel a little guilty and like i'm missing out on things.:|

Sleep is good. Nothing like a good nights sleep. I've been clocking in at 8-10 hours every night at least. Gone are my days of staying up for a WEEK at a time...getting by on a couple of hours sleep every 4 days or something. Man...it really takes its toll on the body and believe me I know.

Sickpuppy I know that feeling of missing out lol :p trust me, I felt that way for a good ten or more years! Always on the go, afraid to miss an event or a party, cursing my body for needing to sleep when I still wanted to be up and go places 8( Thank god that lifestyle is over for me..now I don't feel left out at all even if I sleep all the time. lol.

When you're putting on as much muscle mass as you are, you need that much sleep. Well, that's what I read some where I don't actually have any medical sources on it so take it how you want.

10 hours is perfect. working out can make you sleep like a rock, especially if you're counter-acting the cortisol buildup with a nice dextrose & whey protein shake after you do it.

Usually 8 hours (2am to 10am), sometimes interrupted. If I'm tired I'll take a nap in the afternoon. Since I'm studying full time my schedule is totally flexible so I revert to my vampire sleeping hours if I don't keep it in check.

I sleep about 9-10 hours every night. I can still function on less sleep if need be but my natural waking cycle, without an alarm would be 9-10hrs.

Average 9-10 hours. On weeknights I'm usually asleep by 10pm and get up at just after 7am. 9 hours is just nice for me.

I find if I sleep too long; like 12 hours, I feel horribly sluggish. On the flip side, if I get only 5 or 6 hours (like I did Monday night - urgh) I feel like my brain will explode and find it really really hard to function.

I'm similar to slm, about 8 hours, usually from 10pm to 6am.

On the weekends I'll usually have about 10, but if it stretches out much more than that (again like slm) not only do I feel sluggish on the weekend, I feel like it affects the entire coming week as well, like even if I'm sleeping fine, i still feel like the walking dead for most of teh week.

WOW....14 hours!!! I am not sure if i could even consistently sleep that many hours in a day consistently...unless i'm smoking a lot of pot and juicing. I mean i lift 4-5 times a week and rollerblade about 4 miles a day and still only sleep 8-10 hours a night.

I vary. But generally 7-9 hours is normal for me. Depends if I get up and train in the morning. 6 hours is fine for me I just need to actually get out of bed :)

Goddamn - 14 hours, sickpup?!!?!? Wow. Most of you people are on point. I definitely don't get enough sleep. I probably average 5-6 on weekdays, and 6-8 on the weekends.

6-8 weekdays
8-12 weekends

I slept through half my childhood, and that missing out feeling really cuts a nerve with me.

but also love my sleep.

For about 6 months straight I'd sleep for about 3-4 hours and after class take a 2 hour nap. Now I sleep about 7 a night

Thank God I'm not the only one! I thought about starting a thread like this because I feel like I am asleep all the time! 12hrs is about where I'm at-and actually have been like that since I was a little kid. When I was in school I would sleep for about 10 hours a night then take a 2-3 hr nap as soon as I got home. Now its kind of the same thing except I sleep longer and night and my naps in the afternoon are shorter.

I only work on the weekends so weekdays I usually have nothing to do except run errands or whatever-stupid little shit. So I feel like I sleep because I'm bored and have no real reason to get up early. Also because I smoke a ton of pot all day long I usually fall asleep early like 11pm or 12.

On weekends I work a 12hr shift and dont get home until 2am usually so I dont fall asleep until 3ish and wake up at like noon or 1pm.

I love love love my sleep, but I totally know how you feel about missing out. Sometimes I wish I could wake up at 6am and go running when the streets are almost empty. Then I think "but after that what would I do? go home and go back to sleep?" haha

You guys are lucky... I am constantly tired during the day yet I cannot get to sleep at night becuase I feel wide awake. I probably manage 5 or 6 hours of interupted sleep each night, and when I arise in the morning it is a struggle to get out of bed and wake myself up.

I reckon my body clock is just out of wack. A perfect day for me would be awake at around 11am or 12pm and in bed between 5am or 6am. I have always been this way, but I am sure my drug use hasn't helped though! :D

I'm like the original poster, I average about 13 hours, sometimes 16. About once a fortnight I stay up for about one day, but usually because I'm feeling to good being high on Heroin, drinking and gambling at the Casino. When I get the "afterglows" though, I'll sign into a motel and sometimes sleep for a full day.

The way I look at it is sleep is anything but bad for you. We all need our sleep and because I get a healthy amount of it, I think that's the reason why I never catch influenza. I think it's also extremely good for your skin and keeps you looking younger, because I am 25 years old and look about 7 years younger.

My family says that I am sleeping my life away and that I have plenty of time to "sleep" when I'm dead. But, I just enjoy sleeping and dreaming so much that I'm not willing to give anything up for it. I've lost a couple of relationships because of it, but I can't see any problem... it's not like I'm hurting anyone. If anything, I'm refrishing my body, soul and mind.

8ish, but i do now actual physical activity other than work. which is on and off physical.

i used to be able to sleep for quite awhile 12 + hrs.

now i tend to wake up around 8-10 hrs naturally and get anxious and uncomfortable if i lay there longer.

6 to 8 hours on weekdays, 8 to 9 on weekends. i cant sleep more than 9 hours unless i take xanax or opiates. remember that too much sleep (10+ hours) is bad for you
