How many of you contemplate quitting smoking only because of the expense?

I spend too much money on it; which is my main negative issue with my weed consumption.

How many Bluelighters contemplate stopping because bud costs soo damn much to smoke the good stuff?

And how do you deal with the spending issue?
 
I can't afford to smoke every day really so I used to just get my own fat sack once and awhile and blaze it to bits as an occasional thing while friends blaze me in the meantime. I have a good system going though where I get a quarter every 2 weeks so I have an eigth per week and I don't like to smoke during school days unless friends are blazing me so... I got an eigth per weekend, enough to last me.

edit:I didnt see you said "the good stuff" well the mediocre and the good stuff is like a 5$ difference per eigth where I love, and like 15$ dif per half-o
 
if you don't have the money to buy your own pot, grow it.

if you don't have the means to grow your own pot, learn how to make street money.



if you can't do either of those, stop smoking pot.
 
Lol probably on a nightly basis as im kicking back after a big smoke session in front of the box something along the lines of 'fuck i just turned $XX into ash, oh well only live once' i don't normally notice it tho until a shitload of bills come in and the bank account is running low then i start cutting back a bit.

if i was criticizing you then i'd make sure it was so blatant that you wouldn't have to ask that question.


edit: you're one of the few people (in Cannabis Discussion) who i actually like to read what they have to say when i see your posts, so i honestly don't know where you get the hostile or i'm-all-high-and-mighty vibe from from me.

i never contemplate quitting because of price...just consider the idea of growing.
i like the autoflowering strains they have now that supposedly go from seed to harvest in two months. this Little Angel strain is looking promising with 12-15 % thc
 
Well my issue isnt the cost, but the people I have to deal with. I dont care at all paying $40-$60 an eigth if its conviently availible with either one quality strain or a mix of lots. Although when its only around to pick up or smoke before school or work makes it very very very very rediculous... Especially when they give you crap herb for high prices. Although I dont want to stop, but there are other ways of getting it rather than buying from others ; )

Lately I have been spending 20 a day on weed and it's starting to add up, 1 gram a day will lead to 3 grams a day and then I will def be broke..

I always consider quitting when i get in a daily habit for more than a week or so. Its not just the cost, which is relativly low(around 60NZD/30USD a week), its more of the feeling im dead and just am smoking cause i can smoke and just smoking to get high and 'make things more fun' where in reality things are fun, but after habitual smoking things become shit and return to normal when stoned. Tolerance is also a bitch. I only smoke now and then now.. i have the money and the weed available but i just aint fussed anymore, im over the whole lets get stoned all the time buzz.
 
Interesting, price hasn't really been an issue for me in years, but I'm out of school, gainfully employed, etc... don't know all of your situations but personally that makes all the difference in the world. Being financially independent/independent in general makes smoking weed so much more enjoyable than back in college or high school, when paranoia of getting caught always creeps in.

I kind of just work it into my budget, and I only smoke a quarter a month or so. So some if it's that I don't smoke THAT much (relatively speaking as daily smokers go). As a habit it's definitely cheaper than smoking cigarettes even. It's really not that much of a hit to the wallet. Tolerance affects my desire to cut back way more than cost ever has.
 
Ya most people are fiends though cause they dont view weed as a drug and more like, lets say coffee or cigs. I viewed it this way once upon a time but its wrong, weed is a fucking drug and all the bad shit that comes with every other drug comes with weed too.
