Heroin How long to wait before reusing a vein?

How long do you wait until a vein is healed up enough to reuse it? Just wondering so I can keep my veins good. Also I've been getting a lot of histamine reactions. Practically every shot I get one. Was wondering if reusing veins too quickly might be the cause of that? Thinking if there's holes in the vein the H might be leaking out which causes the reaction. Either that or my water isn't clean enough. I use boiled water but don't bother sterilizing the glass I put it in. Also I use the water after the 2 hour period in which boiled sterile water goes bad is up. Could that be the cause of histamine reactions as well?

Histamine reactions vary from user to user, some are more prone to them. That being said, you may also be getting them due to your shot leaking out of your vein. This can happen in many instances; you pushing your plunger too quick, you pushing the needle through your vein a little, not loosening your tourniquet before plunging, etc. if you're doing any of the above your chances of a histamine reaction rise significantly. Do you always cop from the same connect? If so it may be a cut in the dope that's causing it, try copping from another connect to see if it still happens. I used to use In the same three spots frequently and only had histamine reactions when I made mistakes. (Unintentionally ofcourse) good luck figuring out what's causing em! And remember, you might just be more prone to them.

I push slowly, especially when hitting up the hand but maybe I'm not loosening up the tourniquet enough because I've noticed if I loosen it too much then the needle can come out of the vein due to the vein not being as bulging as it was with the tourniquet wrapped tightly. I use 8mm needles so I don't really have a lot of needle in vein anyways. So that's probably my problem I'm thinking. And yeah I always cop from the same dude and haven't been getting it that frequently until recently. Thanks for the tips and I'll keep that in mind!

Remember to lower your rig to almost horizontal after flagging the first time, then release your tourniquet, this aids in preventing the needle from slipping out. Re flag once you remove your tourniquet to make sure you are still in.

Yeah, OP, using veins over and over is a good way to collapse them, especially if you're not using new, sterile pins. If you rotate constantly, using good technique there's no reason you should lose any veins. One mistake I made was after making a hit, I'd re-draw some blood and shoot what's in there, hoping to get every last bit of drug; apparently, this puts unecessary strain on the vein. Also, using as fine a gauge of needle as possible is a good idea.

Lol.

Yeah the re-drawing blood back in forth after a shot always grossed me out when my friend(s) did it, I never have. I figure I've already gotten 99% I don't need to f* around with my vein anymore once the drug is in.

I, too, heard that it causes unnecessary stress on the vein.

Yeah I also felt that was unnecessary, I'd draw water up and squirt the remainder in my mouth (cuz I loved the bitter taste of dope) to clean out the rig. (It's bad practice but I re use my rigs once more after using them before throwing em.)

This is most likely due to your sensitivity to the heroin itself, or whatever the cut in the heroin is. Three days is enough time to wait between re-using veins.
