Cocaine How long is cocaine depressant effects over GABA?

Hi,

Does anybody knows how long does cocaine depresses GABA(A) synaptic transmission? I'm wondering if it's cumulative, how long it takes to come back to normal function, and if it's (at least partially) responsible for cocaine and paranoia on people who use it frequently.

If anybody has any worth information about Cocaine effects over GABA, please share with us.

Can you provide a reference for cocaine having an effect on GABA transmission? I was under the understanding that cocaine acted as a DA/NE reuptake inhibitor, sigma agonist, and sodium channel blocker.

Hmmm that's pretty interesting. I never knew that cocaine interacts with GABA. Unfortunately I wouldn't even be able to guess its effect on GABA.
