Hello all,

I am in so much goddamn pain now, I am starting to think why God makes me continue to live. It's actually getting to the point of where I am contemplating suicide with very painful methods, the only methods available to me. Overdosing on ibuprofen never worked, I tried that 3 times and have no rope to make a noose. Honestly if i had a gun by me, I would instantly take it and kill myself.

I'm day 6 into stopping IV methadone and heroin, plus benzos, crack and crystal meth. I have made a lot of friends in rehab, it's a really good program, but THE DOCTORS AND NURSES ARE ABSOLUTE NAZIS. They come up with so many excuses, every day, as to why I cannot start suboxone. I can't hold food down or sleep, I'm going day 3 of no sleep. Can't think straight, and all the meds they did give me do nothing. Not even seroquel is helping.

Today I finally got the most straightforward answer I have gotten. Basically I am still coming up positive for methadone. Once I stop coming up positive for it, apparently thats when I can start Suboxone maintenance.

So last time I did opiates was sunday. I shot up 40mg of methadone mixed with about .4 of heroin. It's saturday today, so by Monday should I be peeing clean? I hope to god i do.

How ya posting from a rehab?

Anyway, methadone, depending on how much and how long you've been doing it, usually takes 3-5 days to get out of yoursystem before withdrawals start setting in. If they gave you suboxone after only 1-2 days, you would be immediately put into pre-cipated w/ds which are a lot worse. You need to wait the 3-5 days, or until the 'done is out of your system, because suboxone literally rips the methadone/opiates from your brain receptors and you are put into withdrawal. But if you dont have opi's in your system it'll fill them up partially and help you detox...

It's an intensive outpatient program. I shouldn't have used the term rehab, but it's long. It's everyday, for 8 hours a day, and we have a lot of homework and outside activites we're supposed to complete.

Well it's been 6 days and and I know about the PW's, but they told me I'm not withdrawing from benzos anymore even though I still come up positive for benzos. It's just so confusing or perhaps my brain is broken.

Methadone is always a funny drug to deal with regarding halflife as its so variable. Depending on factors like how much you take, how often and your own body chemistry.
It may seem like the rehab staff are being cruel in not allowing you to start the bup even though your in WD but they do have your best interests in mind. As the above poster said, you will go to precipitated WD if you start the bup while theres still methdone filling your receptors. precip WD are worse then you can imagine and not something you want to go through.
The good news though is that you should be able to start the bup by tomorrow or monday. So just hang on in there, relief is on the way. Please dont do anything stupid in the meantime and good luck.

Benzo withdrawal is going to last a heck of a lot longer than 6 days my friend...

I know! I can't believe they told me that! It was just the nurses so maybe they just slipped up or something, but man, I was taking both Klonopin and Xanax for about 2 and half years pretty much everyday. Them saying that about my benzo withdrawal is what made me question their intentions the most.

Thank you, this made me feel a hell of a lot better! And I know I won't do anything stupid, I finally learned what it is to suffer like so many people have had to learn to. Good songwriting material!

Wow, might as well be a rehab with hours, etc like that.. Only thing you're not doing is sleeping there pretty much.

I must've read the time frame wrong at first, but it's def. weird you're still coming up positive for m/d after 6 days and its weird THEY are telling you you're not in withdrawas from benzos only after 6 days???

Well I stopped using benzos about a week before last sunday. I should have clarified that. But I mean, it still has only been about 2 weeks, and ya know, I have come up postive for benzos on every UA done.

And I have withdrawn from benzos before, they last SO LONG. I still felt severe anxiety and muscle tremors about a month into withdrawal. I'm having really bad muscle tremors and twitches right now, it's really embarassing.

Sorry, we don't allow drug testing questions here, which is what this is. Also, longer-acting benzos stay in your body for a long long time.

Please read the posting guidelines and feel free to PM me or another member of the Other Drugs team if you have any questions.
