Does anyone know how long it takes for cannabis to affect your lungs long term? Also does anyone know how long it takes for cannabis to affect your athletic ability? E.G. How long it takes until smoking cannabis affects you from running/exercising because of tar in the lungs.

its a gradual decline. at 16 i was able to leap over car bonnets and run 24 miles in an afternoon. now 4 decades later i'd puke running to the end of the road. this didnt happen overnight, i've always been active doing stuff, only lately i've noticed my stamina really drop off.

i'm sucking on a strepsil now. my main problem is my throat, i do tai chi and seem to have depth to my lungs; its a tickle in the back of my throat on the way to my lungs that i get problems with.

i've been smoking for a little over 5 years, but about 3 years in i began smoking cigarettes. I used to wrestle and be in really good shape physically, but ever since i've been using tobacco i've noticed a slight decline in my endurance.

One of the Keys to having a long affair with drugs is to stay active.

There are way too many factors for anyone to give you a reliable answer. Potency, amount used, ROA, your body type / genetics, etc. Furthermore, your lungs are going to get worse as you get older, it's just a fact of life.

Get a vaporizer if you care about your lungs; you won't have to find out. Any other answer is speculation.

I have been toking up for about 4 years now and haven't noticed any affects on my lungs....I'm pretty active too. I snowboard in the winter (even biking as well back and forth to school in the winter) biking a bunch in the summer, etc.

So I haven't noticed any decrease of athletic performance at all.

+1 what outtapocket said, there is no way to gauge the damge to lungs from MJ, too many other factors. It's not good for them , that is for sure......
