How long do the effects of klonopin last>?

Well the half life is very long (about 20-80 hr's depending on the person) therefore it will be in your system much longer than most other benzo's....but, coming from a personal user of klonopin(prescribed, not off the street) the effects are only noteworthy for about 6-8 hours like captainheroin said.....allthough it is still working long after that, its just in such a subtle way you cant tell.

*Sometimes when I save up a few days worth of my klonopin doses and then take them all at once (around 3-6 mg's), I get very "loose" and relaxed and most the time very tired at certain points causing me to take a couple naps.....and I will eventually fall asleep(quite easily)....but when I wake up I can still feel the effects....relaxed, kinda like I just got a full body massage.*(meaning... depending on your dosage you can still feel it after a good 20 hours or so)

Allthough, one problem is that when that happens, I usually get a bad case of the hiccups...I dont know why.

sounds bout right. generally xanax is more fast acting as klonopin is longer lasting and more subtle coming on

I would say the effects last about 12 hours, though as other have said, they become much more subtle as the time goes on.

yer agree with most, bout 8-10 hours depending on dose, definate subtle noticeable relaxing effects up to 20 hours. long live clonazepam. we love you.

Took 3mg yesterday and got a bad case of hiccups too, in the middle of the night at that... Couldn't go back to sleep, and am fricking tired.

I take 2 to 2.5mgs a night on average. I'd say the effects can last up to 8+ hours too, with a long half-life which enables it to control anxiety for a while, which is a good thing if you need that like I do. Only thing I dislike about it is when I wake up I still feel as or more tired than when I went to bed, and that feeling sticks around for a while too.

I believe everyone will answer this question depending largely on 2 factors. The dose taken and the individual's metabolism/environment.

Everyone will respond to the same drug slightly differently, sometimes markedly differently.

1 mg keeps me anxiety free for about 18 hours. But i completely agree with FormerPianoMan; it depends a lot on body weight and metabolism as well as what is happening. if you're reaching the end of the drug's effectiveness and something SUPER stressful happens to ya, i'm betting it won't seem very effective any more.

Klonopin is kind of weird @ least in my case. I never feel anything from it right away or even hours after I take it for that matter. It doesn't really make me tired or calm @ all. Somehow it's been able to control my anxiety though. It's almost like it's calming me down but I can't even tell it. It's really hard to explain.

I've tried ativan & xanax before & they both pretty much kicked in and relaxed the hell out of me right off the bat. I take klonopin though because long-term it just seems to control my anxiety without me having to take it during the day or more than once a day @ all. They say it's more long-lasting than other benzos & I know in my case it's definitely true.

8-12 hours but has a subtle 4 hours of extra "calmness" if you will

Really long lasting but a bit weak when compared to xanax if your looking for quick relief and overrall in my opinion but still a good long lasting benzo.
