Opioids How long do suboxone precipitated withdrawals last?

I found another thread on this, but I wanted to post myself because it wasn't the same specifics as myself. I have been doing heroin off and on for the last 5 years more so in the last couple of years and have been on methadone a little over a year. I have been at 80 mg. I just started taking suboxone and the doctor told me to wait until I start feeling sick and then take it. So I waited about 72 hours and started feeling sick so I took an 8 mg sub and that was about an hour and a half ago. Now Im feeling withdrawals really bad. Like as bad as I have ever had them. How long will this last. What can I do to stop it. I have a little bit of methadone left and 19 more subs. Should I take the methadone? Or wait it out? If so how long will this last?

Wait it out, it shouldn't be longer than a day. That sucks though, 72 hours? That's a long ass time to still get precip's...
OH WAIT your on done, your doctor definitely should've considered that since it has a much longer withdrawal period.
I'm not sure if that's the entire reason why your having to go through this but it seems likely.
I'd almost recommend waiting until the sub wears off (24 hours) and then taking the methadone again and re grouping with your doc to find a better way of induction so you don't have to deal with this again.
A great tip is to start off with only like ONE mg of the sub, so that if you do go into precip's, it will be muchhhhh less severe.
(And a full day for PW's is actually fairly long, it's more that taking your done again too soon will diminish it's strength, so it'd be better to not waste as much)

Your Dr sounds like a real fuck-tard
Even a 1st year Dr. would know you should be below 30 mg to even attempt that.

Sorry the damage is done...I would prob' try to over ride it if possible. (just me though)

Weird you got precip 72hours after the done (even with the 1/2 life). You sure you're not forgetting something else? Anyway, at this point don't go back to the done and either throw it away or keep in case of emergency (yea, throw it away). Wait about 12 hours and eat 1/4 of that sub and see how it treats you. I think you just mildly o.d. or just gave your system a shock and you're assuming it's precip wd. The strength of Subs are grossly underestimated from my experience -- even by some Doctors. I've seen them write a 3 strips/day scrip for people that don't even need 1/day. Anyway, I registered to respond to you because what you're going thru blows and figured I would throw in my 2 cents because I'm somewhat familiar with the interaction in question. GL bud you're going to feel better very soon (if not already).

Update: I am feeling better now, still kind of shitty, but not really withdrawals. I took the sub around 8 or 9 PM and managed to fall asleep probably around 1 AM or so. I woke up at about 5 AM and by then it had mostly worn off and I was able to get in bed and go to sleep. I felt really tired (methadone withdrawals always make me tired but can't sleep at all,) but every time I got in bed I would get extremely restless and not be able to lay still so I'd just get up. And I was freezing and sweating real bad and shaking. I got in my chair and propped my head on a pillow and tried to watch TV and kept sort of nodding off for a few seconds then I'd get really restless again. So I got on the couch and put a blanket on and sat there watching TV for a while and just kept closing my eyes and eventually nodded off. I guess I'm going to take another sub now. I'll try a quarter of it. I always felt pretty good on methadone. Like not high unless I triple dosed, but it always gave me energy and able to get through the day. I feel kind of shitty right now and didn't want to get out of bed. Does anyone know how subs compare to methadone? Will I eventually get back to feeling the way I did on methadone with subs? I switched because going to the clinic every day was too much of a hassle and the methadone was about twice as expensive as the subs. Also I got offered a job that I wanted to take, but the hours of the job were during the hours the clinic were open so I can't take the job and go to the clinic. But I've been putting off starting working for 3 weeks because I've been trying to make this transition so I'm not even sure if I'm still offered the job at this point..

Yes, give it another day or 2 to acclimate to the sub and you'll get energy and an overall feeling of normalcy. Just don't take too much or you will feel some malaise. Once you get over the hump and feel pretty good on them, you should consider doing a step down to finally rolling clean brotha. If not, I know some people perfectly content riding out the sub-wagon for the rest of their life. Their memory sucks though and it robs you of your sex drive (but I know that's the least of your concerns right now). Anyway, you WILL feel better very very soon. Let us know how the 1/4 works out. Maybe try 1/2 next time and try to find the "sweet spot".
