Titles says it all...how long did you personally crave opiates after stopping use and for how long did you use.

That greatly depends on multiple factors: For example How long someone took opiates, which ones, what doses and for which purpose (getting high, pain management, both...) personal biochemistry, other drugs and so on.
So it is impossible to generalize but for me the stronger cravings during the PAWS (Post acute withdrawl symptom) after ~4 months of low dose Buprenorphine use lasted roughly about a month.
Then they subsided but never completely vanished. There are bad days inbetween feeling normal again where the craving comes back, but in a much lower intensity.

Like zerwas already said it depends and you haven't given enough info to even make an educated guess. But it suffices to say that the longer your habit the longer the cravings will last for and the more I tense they will be. I am fairly convinced that if I quit today I would never feel normal again. But I have been physically addicted for 8 years ymmv.

i used pills 2-3 times a month for about 8 years without beccoming addicted... then 18 months of daily use (perc 30s) and 14 of shootin H (about half a G a day) and i have used any opiates in one month today and im not craving anything ATM but the last few days have been a bitch... from what ive been told it comes and goes and the longer your clean the less intense they become....

yeah, i've been more-or-less clean from opiates for 2 1/2 months, and the cravings do seem to lessen in frequency and intensity as time goes by. I was an IV user since late 2008, and on methadone for the last 5 yrs, and the cravings were nearly constant for the first month. I find it helps to remind yourself that they will pass, and then just do what you can to distract yourself...humans can be extremely resilient organisms, and you can get used to nearly anything.

I agree with everyone else. We are all different.

For me, using up to 120-140 mg of oxycodone/opana daily, my psychological cravings last for a few weeks. However, if I wean down with help from Methadone, at low doses, my physical cravings last about a week.

It's hard for me to go cold turkey, as I can't take the leg cramps, especially with my job.

So in all, I'd say a good 2-3 weeks for the body and mind to stop craving.

Mentally? Ad infinitum if you had a serious enough addiction. It's been more than a year since i was addicted but boy would i love some opiates right about now. Good thing i am getting some on the morrow, lulz.

I haven't shot up since last spring, and not regularly since like 2007 (oh how i miss being 16)... but tonight I'd almost shoot up water, if I didn't know it was a bad idea on multiple levels. So I would say definitely depends on you and the circumstances. The farther away you get from it, the less it'll come to mind, but there are nights like tonight when it is terrible.
