How long did you have to wait to get your magic back?

Basically, I'm on month 3 and a half :)

I plan on waiting another 2 months. Has anybody gone through a 5 month break and have anything to report with regards to tolerance decrease? I'm hoping for something akin to the early days of rolling, haha :)

How much do you used to do during you abuse period?

I usually take 8 to 10 months a part, and its almost like my first time. the only difference is that nowadays i know what to expect, then it's not as "magical" as the first time, but i roll intensely for a good 3-4 hours, no comedown.

It may depend on how much and how frequently you used in the past, but after about 8 years of using anywhere between once a month to once every two months, breaks of that long don't do anything to restore the magic for me.

What happened was that my actual tolerance went way down so that I noticed strong effects from a moderate dosage of MDMA (~120mg) but the effects were an uncomfortable initial speedy rush and a body high such as eye wiggles without any of the real hallmark effects of MDMA such as feeling empathy, euphoria and feeling loved up. The peak effects certainly lasted much longer as well. The last few times I have used MDMA I've even felt edgy and anxious at times during the high, and that's even on good quality MDMA. After using MDMA regularly, Ann Shulgin reported a similar experience in that MDMA actual depressed her instead of uplifting her.

The one big difference is that my come downs became much shorter and much more tolerable with me feeling back to normal in several days instead of several weeks.

All in all, MDMA has currently lost all appeal for me because there's no pleasurable return - there's just feeling fucked up for a few hours followed by a couple of days of being scattered, irritable and feeling emotionally and physically unbalanced before a slow week of recovery. There was a period of years where I used MDMA infrequently, but when I did use it I took high dosages extended over 6 to 10 hours, so I entertain the thought that I may have permanently altered whatever mechanism allows a person to experience a classic MDMA high.

I wish you the best, but if you've been a heavy or long-term user then you probably need to consider at least a year long break if you are looking for something even close to those first times.

Stuff like that is what made me never abuse mdma like many people seem to be unable to avoid at sometime in their usage

Monthly for 8 years? Wow man, I wish you the best and hope you one day get to experience the MDMA feeling again.

As for me, I haven't even been aware of ecstasy for a full two years.

I used heavily (maybe once to twice a week) for 3 months almost two years ago, followed by a 3 month break, and then taking the drug about once a month until 5 months ago.

So although I took too much and was e-tarded in term of my abuse for a while, I certainly don't think I've permanently pissed away the magic, and I definitely don't feel any negative side-effects whatsoever.

once i too did think that may have lost the magic forever.

i dont know exactly how long i stayed away from mdma. i only noticed a real improvement after the 3rd or 4th time i spaced out for 5 months.

so, after a period intensive abuse (4 pills per week), i stoped for 3 years. then almost zero tolerance.

then i abused it again. first only a couple pills every weekend. then a couple pills every 2-3 months.

then i abused in quantity, as i space my rolls a good 4-5 months, but i did many pills at time (5 to 8 ).

but once i reduced to 1 pill, i noticed that my tolerance were zero again, after the 3rd time doing that (taking only 1 pill, spacing it out for 5 months).

i would'nt say the magic is back, because you once know the feeling, its not magical anymore. but the effects are the same. and i mean that because 1 pill is enought for me again. that said, once you put yourself in new situations, you'll have your magic back. because it's not only about mdma doing its effects, the magic is also related to "discovering", "trying new things", "living new situations". that's where the magic is!

It does seem difficult for some of us to moderate. For the first two to three years I used MDMA, I was very conscious of harm reduction. I used only one pill, waited 3 to 4 months between using and pre-loaded and post-loaded. Those were magical times, but somehow it seems my respect for the drug slipped away over time and I began to abuse.

It's my own personal opinion with no research to back it up that a majority of people who use MDMA go the eventual route of abuse because the pleasure return of the drug is initially so great that it's almost impossible to not want to return to it as long as you are getting that magical high.

Sorry to break it to you, but based on your usage history 5 months isn't really long in the scheme of things. I wouldn't be expecting much decrease in your tolerance. 5 years would probably be more like it.

That's not to say you can't just take it every 3 months and enjoy it, but unless you take a long long break you're never really gonna come close to that magic of your early MDMA experiences.

I've heard a lot of great accounts of Piracetam (a legal supplement specifically targetting repair of the seratonin receptors) working wonders for some heavy abusers- the trick also with that, is abstinence for a few months.

Though some people claim is "completely" restores their magic- I plan to order some, and keep my expectations low- more than anything, Piracetam seems to make your tolerance go way down (instead of needing like 8 pills in a night you'll be back at 2-3).

I'm not at a point where I need a boat load of pills, but I am at a point where MDMA just effects me differently, and unless I get extremely high quality pills (which is rare, and I'm not one of those people that will brag that they have the "bomb hookup" cause I don't LOL)...so I'll keep everyone updated on how that goes.

I used to roll alot, probably twice or 3 times a week. I never really had the magic gone, just the rolls last shorter and the comedown is worse each time. But I always love the rolls..

Its actually the other way around. If they are strong beans your taking all the time then it'll take longer for recovery for your brain's full health. Think about it, its common sense, more MDMA = more seretonin depletion. Once it catches up to you, you'll be sad, lonely, lost, confused etc... MDMA is a beautiful thing, we should not take it for granted.

100% true! People seem to think "good" pills that make them feel greatttt also = "good" pills that won't cause them to come down. Unfortunately, what goes up....must come down. =/

waiting doesn't seem to help me, even if it's been almost a year. my tolerance has just gone up. i don't need THAT much to get me going, but I do need more than one pill.

Idk.

I don't think I'd attribute much of this to tolerance... if you're stilling rolling good, the fact that it takes more than one pill (always the case with me, even my first time) could just indicate sub-par pill quality... which mind you they ALL are these days.

Even the rolls that everybody raves about are maybe 90mgs tops.

mdma comedown is quite calm enjoyable and pleasant...its the adderral, speed, caffeine or who knows what in ur pills thats giving you a comedown.....try some molly and you will understand.

Truth. I think this is the 105th time I've said this this week, but quality is good here in Cali and I have yet to ever experience post-MDMA depression.

took a break for two years (from when i was 16 - 18 ) and rolled again with my honey. I was hooked all over again and abused it like crazy (again, although not quite as bad -- ie, not daily) for the next four years. I'm currently just past three months without a pill and I highly doubt the magic will have returned the next time I do it.

That Is quite the opposite. Technically if your takin better beans then that means theres less neurotoxicity on your brain because they arent cut with chemicals n dirty shit

Take it from a pro, Ive eatin enuff beans to know more then both of us when it comes to this matter

mdma mortally wounds the brains cells alone without any cut, they die off about 3 days after taking ecstasy which lead to happy mondays, i got a little under 300 pills under my belt not tryna dick measure just letting u know im not talking out my ass with only like 12 pills on me
