I have been using Seroquel to pass out for the last couple nights, I am now in Opiate Withdrawal and would like to continue for about 4-7 more nights would I be in the clear to do that or would I be facing withdrawal?

you'll be fine. Don't overdo the quil just take enough to sleep for those days and endure the agony of the day before dosing again. If you find yourself craving drugs for sleep when the withdrawal is over, welcome to post withdrawal ...endure it. In 3 months your brain will be much better. this first 2 weeks are imperative . If you don't use drugs for the entire 2 weeks, you probably wont face withdrawal from em.

My hat´s off to you bro. Whatever it takes, go for it.
Every day is different, and indeed a victory. I know how shitty this phase can be.
You have to earn it. Keep it up. In 2-3 weeks you will see how worthy it was and you´ll feel how powerful you can be.
You can do it!!
Keep posting.

when i was using seroquel during my klonopin / ambien taper, i was snorting 50mg a night for 6 months straight. i hate the stuff now but i needed it for sleep then, and i quit cold turkey and used DPH for awhile in low doses to fix any rebound anxiety from w/d's

I did something similar during one of my withdrawal stints. Granted, I had already been prescribed seroquel/quetiapine for a couple of years and was still taking it sporadically, but either way I took it and pretty much slept through the worst few days. I don't have to reiterate what others have already told you but I will anyway: you won't run into any problems in terms of withdrawal. I took 50-100mg of seroquel nightly for a solid few months and basically stopped without any real issue... to be honest I very rarely hear seroquel referred to as a drug of concern re: physical dependence and withdrawal.

Just out of curiosity, how much are you taking? You don't say, so I don't want to go on a whole thing if you already know but keep in mind seroquel can be effective for this kind of thing at really small doses, 25-50mg.

Keep up the good fight! If the seroquel helps you could very well sleep for the better part of three days like I did. I mean, it wasn't good sleep nor was I coming off a giant dose at the time, and when I woke up I was miserable. But seroquel + thomas recipe foods/otc meds minus the benzo really was a godsend at the time. I think I actually took the seroquel for 3-4 days and spot checked the anxiety or trouble sleeping with small amounts of alprazolam for a few more days but I'm not necessarily recommending a benzo for someone just coming off opiates. That's just what I did at the time.

It didn't stick, but was the start of my longest stretch without so... do with that what you will.

TLDR: As others have said you'll be fine. I did something similar and it helped. Good luck with your recovery.

I always recommend it for opiate withdrawal actually, of any kind
I took seroquel for years only at night. it's an atypical - great for sleep. I highly doubt you'll have any problems coming off of it. You don't use it morning or day right?

I know some folks used it briefly and were fine, went from 300 mg to 50, to 25 then stopped. it's not a drug one craves anyway. I never wanted it, didn't make me high or anything. actually didn't like it. I had hyperthyroidism. I also took it for a week for heroin withdrawal. Not that I slept but it kept me comfortable in bed first few nights. Just be careful it can enhance restless legs on higher doses. :)

You'll be fine it's actually quite good for opiate wds as we all know sleep is something precious during those times and highly coveted

None of you guys find Seroquel to increase the restlessness from withdrawal to unbearable levels? That was always my complaint with the stuff. Either way the friend who would give them to me uses them strictly for heroin withdrawal for two week periods at a time and has yet to mention any rebound or withdrawal. Like mentioned, a switch to an antihistamine would soften the blow due to similar MOA.

You may gain some weight but besides that I don't see anything coming from it just don't take it daily for months on end but even then low doses are not generally that hard to come off.(for most people)

Yup! Anything over 100 and the restlessness, as far as my legs were unbearable, for me It would help sleep though. Catch 22. :)

I have done this but I found that it made the day-after effects absolutely horrible, even more so than it would have been anyway. The 6-8 hours it let me get were a godsend but the neuroleptic hangover effect mixed with opiate withdrawal was such a hellish experience that I honestly can't tell you if the trade off was worth it, but then again I always hated taking any neuroleptic because I was so sensitive to the day-after effects so your experience may vary. Whether you do or don't use the seroquel, stay positive and remember the withdrawals are temporary and there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and good luck. Life is so much better without an opiate addiction!

I use it every night and it helps me to sleep considerably.
It´s very easy to come down but it does make you quite slower on the next day.
However, it does not make it easier for restless legs. Other medications in connection with Seroquel may help.
Brands like Bromazepan can be very helpful, but differently from Seroquel, Bromazepan is a benzo and you can´t use it for long periods. But there are others.
Back to seroquel, you´ll find it definitely worthy for a good sleep and a calm day after.
Don´t worry about your weight right now, you´ll loose after this is resolved.
I sense that everyone is trying to help you, as life does get much better without an opiate addiction!!:)

I had the same experience with restlessness. It was horrible. The rehab doctor told me I was a liar that restlessness is not a side effect of seroquel. Good to have some backup.
