Heroin How long can a shot be left in a syringe?

thats a good question, ive never left one in the syringe for more than 48 hours but i would think there would be a lot of factors involved. Like what the heroin is cut with. If it was pure heroin it could stay there for a long time especially if the water was bacterolistic or however they spell it.
 
I've found shot that have been left for weeks.. I was unsure so I flushed it. Psyche!
No problems reported here. Unless it's bloody or something, shame it up or re filter. You'll be ok.
 
You really want to use your shots as soon as you prep them, unless you use bacteriostatic water bacterial growth is going to begin as soon as they are prepared, no matter how "sterile" you try to be.. and you really don't want septicaemia from a shot containing dangerous levels of bacteria.

As I have no idea how long a safe period would be, I wouldn't risk it at all and would only shoot something I had just prepped.
 
^agreed. The clock starts ticking as soon as it gets prepped, why let it sit and risk bacterial growth if you aren't using bacteriostatic water?
 
Yeah man i wouldnt iv a shot that i didnt know how old it was. Shoot it up your nose
 
If it's been there for more than 15 minutes I think it's getting to be unsafe (and you should plug/snort it). Unless it's done with bacteriostatic water & a micron filter.
 
I left a shot for just over 24 hours( was in the sun for some of that time) and ended up in hospital on a drip from the only dirty shot ive ever had, ive done similar things before but have always been fine I guess I was just unlucky this time, it certainly taught me a lesson, I am careful now because the pain I experienced in my head and the pain in my stomach and back/spine was no joke it was unbelievable, I threw up constantly for hours I honestly thought I was going to die and when it was over I was just happy to be alive and for it to be over. If you mix up a shot and you find you cant have it when you planned then putting it in the freezer is a good way to keep it from growing bacteria.

Doesnt heroin eventually turn back into morphine if left in the syringe for too long or am I just making that up? I am quite sure that is right it takes awhile though. Can someone who knows for sure fill me/us in?
 
that's an interesting concept ketaman, i've never heard that but would be interested in hearing how that works
i donno how you can prep a shot and not do it immediately.. why prep a shot that you aren't planning on shooting for 1-3 days after? just wait till the day you're ready to iv and do it asap for best results IME for sure

It does, but very slowly. it'd take weeks for it to totally revert to morphine.

i think the best advice is: don't do a IV shot if you haven't immediately prepared it.
