First off, if this is in the wrong place I apologize. Please move it to the correct forum if that is the case
I take oxycodone for pain - 70mg roughly a day. I had quit 3 separate times for about a month and a half to reduce my tolerance.
However, I've noticed that even after abstaining for a month, if I take a pain relieving dose for 3 days in a row and then stop, I will experience withdrawal symptoms at about 80% strength of taking them for years!
So my question is, how long would one have to abstain from opioids before they could take them without experiencing intense w/d symptoms?
I know tolerance decreases pretty slow. Will I always go into withdrawal forever now?
It's like my body just reacts the same.
I know there isn't a set amount of time but a general answer will more than suffice.
I am 5'10 150lbs and have an impressively fast metabolism.
I would like to get to a point where I could take them only for breakthrough pain but with the fast reaction of their presence and immediate withdrawal reflex I seem to have, this doesn't seem possible. H
