Opioids How long after taking suboxone should i wait to get a high off norcos?

So SWIM is a very moderate opiate user. SWIM usually takes norcos or roxies but has tried nearly everything from opana to heroin to dilaudids. Anyways, at the time being, SWIM has a fairly low tolerance. It takes about 5 or 6 norcos or 2 30mg roxies to get SWIM to a good place. Last week, SWIM was unable to get ahold of the usual norcos or oxys so SWIM managed to get some suboxone strips. SWIM took 8mg one night which got SWIM a very decent buzz. SWIM then followed that with about 4mg the next day with NO effect. SWIM waited 48 hours and then took 2 roxicodones, which actually gave SWIM a pretty great buzz considering SWIM's recent bupe usage. After the night that SWIM took the roxis, SWIM once again took about 4mg of suboxone. This gave SWIM a pretty good buzz as well. It has now been about 36 hours since SWIM took the suboxone. What I want to know is: If SWIM takes his normal dosage of norcos will SWIM still feel it? Will SWIM get a high or will his opioid receptors still be blocked by the bupe? Keep in mind, SWIM is 156 lbs and has a very fast metabolism...

depends on how many days in a row you used sub. i am a recovering heroin addict and ive been on suboxone for a long time, so naturally i used to sell my script to cop dope. being an addict, im extremely impatient. i would do sub one day, pick up dope, try to go a full day without using either, but i didn't have the balls. the day after taking sub, i would already feel like i was starting to kick. but a straight G couldnt even get me loaded at that point. it's bizarre that the day after taking sub, you won't feel subbed, but you still can't get high off a full agonist. to be truthful, i know it was the sub, because i could feel a rush from the dope for maybe 10 seconds and it would quickly go away. the bupe displaced all the heroin within 10 seconds. so if this is true, you will have to wait at least 24 hours, especially for norcos. the advice of many people in my life has been at least 36 hours but preferably 72 hours. remember that the half life of buprenorphine is ~37 hours on average. it may not feel like it, but it really takes that long for the concentration to even half. which means ideally you should wait twice that before you even try to get high. if you're an addict i accept that this is pretty hard to do. my advice is that you should abstain from sub until you feel like your withdrawal is peaking. when your withdrawal is peaking, that means 99% of the bupe has certainly left your brain. don't go based on a number, because everyone's body is different. you will know when you can get high off those norcos because you will be writhing in pain lol. plus just think about how fucking satisfying it is to take a full agonist when you're in full fledged withdrawal. i would take that high over just about anything. that rush and sedation following withdrawal and agony is pretty much the reason opiates are so psychologically reinforcing.

I'd imagine this and similar questions (i.e. how long to wait after Subs to take *inert opiate of choice*) is the most asked drug related question on the internet over the past 5 years. As a matter of fact, its probably not even close.

No way to tell really since you're going back and forth. Just try it and see what happens. The longer and more you take bupe, the less you will feel the effects from full agonists (it will just take longer). Suboxone builds up in your blood quick. Also, before a MOD sees this and tells you, there is no need to use SWIM on this forum

I actually took the tinniest piece the last piece of my sub and it had to been maybe .25 it was about the size of the end of a writing pen I took it at roughly 2 and i felt a lil better but still not feelin great so i bought a couple 10mg hydros and I took one and feel amazing actually i feel every bit of it I wanted to test it cause it has worked in the past for me even on tiny bit larger portions of sub but maybe a very thin strip and it still worked but I was crampin still and starting to get those withdrawl feelins since its 11pm now and like i said i took it at 2pm but since i was crampin i got those and did a ten and feel great so its not all true although i have been taking very tiny pieces of sub for the last 3 days

Although i dont suggest taking a full strip half strip then taking a narco MAYBE on the tiiiinest little piece

suboxone has a 24 hr half life so 5*24= 120 hrs approximately 5 days and could be as soon as 4 depending on the individual IE metabolism, exercise how long swims has been on the subs he was prescribed. after five days from swimms last sub they should feel the full effects
