I just got a vaporizer pipe (one of those pipes with the ceramic thing in them) and eventually im hoping to get an electronic one.. but i have noticed the high seems to be different from smoking. To me it is much more 'light and fresh' and much less of a body load than from smoking.

how would you characterize the difference?

is it all in my head?

Still your lungs are taking in smoke not air so its the same deal. I feel like the high is a little cleaner but them chemisty is the same, its really just the difference between hurting your lungs or not.

It's more clean...it's like more clarity and less confusion. Other than that it's the same.

less confusion? i get very confused over nothing lol.. its all personal opinion and mine, it like stated above that it is more clean, longer, not near as much as the body high but still great..

I don't get the "i have no idea what's going on" feeling as much when I vape. But then again, personal stuff.

The High produced from a vapor is sometimes said to be "lacking" in one aspect or another but this is cause when you smoke tary smoke your body produces anti bodies & other things to try to combat the dirtyness, you feel this. VAPORIZING leaves that aspect out since theirs no major skank for the body to fight off leaving some to feel something "lacking" in the high. i feel vaporizers Are awsome & really bring out the unique taste of good plant matter, i love multi chambered bongs as well for total killage.

When I smoke the volcano it comes on slower, lasts longer, and the high is far more energetic. I'm more talkative and my mind is more clear than it normally is after smoking ("cleaner" high). Its a great experience but I like to keep the vape to once a week or so personally.

vaporization delivers a different ratio of cannabinoids thus producing a different high. there is less or more CBN vs THC or something like that, i forget what the difference is exactly. all i know is that i didn't like the vaporizer high. sure, it was cleaner but aspects were missing.

if there is smoke when your vaping, your doing it wrong.

Sorry I didnt mean smoke I meant vapor, but I'm still right. Your alveoli (the tiny tiny capillaries in your lungs that take in oxygen and put it into your blood stream) are still absorbing THC and not oxygen, so you do get the oxygen deprivation feeling, just without the dirtiness as another poster said (talking about the antibodies etc).
