How do you support your habit?

I am an opioid addict (currently only physically dependent on buprenorphine but I don't doubt that I am going to relapse immediately after this heinous, wanna-be opioid is out of my system for good) who is, for the most part, extremely short on cash all the time. I don't have a job currently either but am looking. I was just wondering how all of you support your habits? For me it's somewhat of a cycle. I afford my habit by going to work but can only work while on my DOC. Also if you are like me and scoring for the day is never a sure thing, I'd like to know what percent of the time you're high compared to not being able to score. Feel free to use a fraction, a percentage, whatever.

when I was using daily I would say that my percentage of being high to being sick was probably 40/60. high being 40, sick being 60. I had pretty reliable sources, but my problem was I lost my car towards the end, so I started taking buses and riding my bike. I admit I was not the best junkie. I stole a few items from relatives of mine, but I never robbed anyone or broke into anywhere or did anything like that. so I supported my habit by working mostly, with a bit of petty theft.

Mostly working an almost full time job. At times I come up with less then moral ways to make small amounts of money as someone else suggested but its about 95% work and only the other 5% when quality fluctuations leads to the weeks supply running out early. I also only buy once maybe twice a week to save hassle, risk, also a little money from price breaks.

working two jobs...and one of them is serving in a pretty decent restaurant, so I can usually come up with cash on a daily/near-daily basis. when I worked one more "professional" job, I could never manage to make two weeks pay last anywhere near that long, not while using anyway.

Let's,see, I work a professional job. As long as I have my doc I'm ok, and insurance pays for that. Then when I run short I have to buy....which I hate. Then, I'm very artistic and make jewelry and sell that for side money. It's hard supporting a habit. Very time consuming.

I work like a mad woman and insurance covers my 3k in monthly RX. Wish I could go back to the banana boat days of percocet, I'd have so much more money to boot.

I'll admit that in the past, I borrowed from a family member's credit cards via cash back. Not proud to say I did that.

I work a fuck ton, as in 90-100hr weeks but I work in the oil field and those types of hrs are the norm. Schedule is pretty sweet tho, 2 weeks on and a week off. I am High/well 100% of the time. On my 2 week bid I take my sub like a good little boy (mainly because the oil field has a lot of random UA's and I cant afford to piss dirty cause I have a CDL license and would not get hired anywhere with that on my record) on my week off tho I go hard with dope and coke for 5 days and sober up the last 2 so just incase I get called to piss on my 1st day back I know ill be clean

Off topic but any young guys that aren't tied down with a wife or gf should look into the oil/natural gas fields. They pay Very very well for not having a college degree. I work 35 weeks out of the year and bring home around 1700 a week after taxes. A lot of companies will even pay you 40 hrs on your week off. My company puts you up in a motel for your 2 week bid, 40$ a day tax free per diem, Travel time to and from the rig and 40 hrs on your week off. Cant beat that and the work isn't hard either just long long hrs. (15hr day when you include travel time) When were fracking a well there isn't much to do other than monitor the pumps and stuff. lots of time to watch movies, fuck around on facebook, play pranks on co worker.

sorry for the rant just figured id let some ppl know whats up if they really don't know what they wanna do in life just yet. oil field is a good place for a young man that wants to work

Well, I'm on Subs now, but I use to just litterally take my whole paycheck and just give it to my dealer(minus 50 I would keep 4gas). So, when using I would use my paycheck, 'borrow' money from family, or make up something to get moeny from someone...before I worked(when I first started, like 7 years ago) I stole money or came up with something somehow to get something from somebody. So glad those days are over, for now anyway.
