How do you hide your plants?

Successfully concealing your plants for the months-long growing period takes balls, planning and often a lot of luck. I've grown in containers up trees, threaded through a trellis of passionfruit, in a crop of maize, on a pontoon in the middle of a dam, in the bush miles from anywhere, on the roof, in an old water tank... the list goes on. Given its colour and distinctive form it can be a bitch to hide. What do other folk do to keep their precious plants safe?

Honestly I havnt had any problems hiding them from people who may be looking, so 7 ft sativa's arnt overly hidden. Kept one spot going for 11 months once.

We keep some chicken wire around them to keep roo's, wallabys and bush turky out:p

Sounds like you've sussed a safe pozzy. There are crews of rip-off merchants using everything from horses and dirt-bikes to motorised hang-gliders to find growers over my way. I've laid low and watched the mongrels :/. If I'm not planning on being greedy home has been the best place for me to grow a few monsters at a time.

Home is usually the safest as long as you keep it under controll. I want to get an indoor set up going, wont be for a while though :o

My friends grow indo and they dont even use a carbon filter, you cant smell a plant, it just smells like the weed they have been smoking all day.

They grow in the closet.. 8 plants under 600W HPS

I live rural and also have a cellar I'd love to rig up but power costs for a couple of 600 Sonti's + peripherals is a bit steep. Power is also dodgy (surges/bleeds/old lines etc.) so company men are always around checking usage. On smell - I've heard negative ion generators are good for removing grow odour for bigger hobbies.

Yeah the weed your friends are growing probably dosent have much of a smell due to that genetic, which is always a good thing :)

Depending on what you grow, and most of the time anyway a carbon filter is the best investment you can make when growing indoors.

One of my old grower mates used to specifically breed his plants so they smelt less. They still fucking stank the house out though. But then it was the dankest weed i've ever seen so who knows haha.

the fan that will be responsible for pushing all the odorous air through the carbon filter is just as important. it must be able to provide adequate pressure and flow! therein lies the problem for a stealth grower: how to clean grow cab air without making unusual noise? the only solutions to that problem is either to silence the noise well enough or camouflage the source of the noise.

by camouflage, what i mean is making the grow enclosure resemble a device that it's not unusual to hear fan noise emanating from. for example, a refrigerator :)
