How do I stop my weed from falling through my bowl/cp?

Hey guys I'm not a very experienced smoker, and I just picked up a few g the other night.

I will be using a homemade bong (aussie way) consisting of a plastic bottle with a hose (replacing stem) fitted into a side. (I burnt a hole using a lighter).

I'm buying a CP (cone piece) to pu on the hose, but my question is how do I stop the weed from falling through the CP ??

^ And you unwittingly burn all kinds of shit that shouldn't be burnt.

No matter how had you try some bits of plastic and shit will start melting away.
 
Just done chop your weed up so fine and compact it in when you pack your cones. Also suck slow while your pulling it, and suck the ash through the whole once all the weed is burnt.

You'll get used to it.
 
if you break the weed up with your fingers break off a little bigger piece so that it will cover the hole but not block it. or you can squeeze some smaller nugs together so they will hold together until theya re burnt.
 
^ I've never understood this, it seems to be an american thing. Why do you guys use a large chunk of bud to block up the hole? over here we use a sceen so all the weed gets bunt. With you method the fire will lick that large chunk of bud but only roast the outside....petty wasteful tbh.

Nah man, you can smoke a nug. Not sure where you got that idea, its pretty much the cheapest way to accomplish what he's trying to accomplish. Unless you use a glass screen or something specifically made for the job yourun the risk of inhaling fumes. You really shouldn't use (for instance) the screens from the faucet; besides, anything metal makes your weed taste like shit.

Come on man, that's amature shit. Not to mention really really bad for you. Maybe don't make yourself look like an idiot next time you try to bash someone who's actually a full member of this forum. Smoking with a metal/aluminum screen is unhealthy...not good for your lungs!

I've seen 'glass screens' used before. I've seen 2 shapes. One looked like a daisy/flower, the other looked kind of like a jack (metal spiky thing in game played with a bouncy ball). Both fit neatly over the hole in the bowl with enough space for only smoke to get though.

You should be able to find them most places that carry unique handblown glass smoking accessories...
 
This guy is in Aus, so am I. You wont find people over here that use screen's OP, just make sure when you pack your cones there well compacted in. You dont need screens!

It's not rocket science, really it isnt. IMO by listening to folks from other countrys, who used different methods and equip for smoking it could make you confused, and also make you go out and by things which arnt needed.

You really just need to keep smoking bongs and getting use to how hard you pull on the cones, then your own method will form.

really? That seems like the opposite of what most people I talk to say. That's cool though, I think you guys have better access to landrace strains and bad ass sativas from southern Europe/northern Africa, while over here it's mostly engineered hybrids for yield and quality retention. Rarely does anyone bother growing anything else other than for their personal head stash.
 
Kind of off topic, but would somewhat help the rest of us understand... Is it true that in Aussieland you cannot buy pieces I shops? I feel like I heard this before somewhere. Anyway, whatever your method after a while if you keep using the same piece it should res up enough to not matter.
