I always hear people talking about how easy it is to get hooked on coke. As some may know I had a bit of a scary experience with it recently, but the good parts I really enjoyed, and I would love to casually use cocaine now and then, as long as it's not too easy to get dependent on.
Thanks

You've used it. You know how you responded. Mental addiction will kick in first, unless you have so much money that you just do it because you can and want to be high. Space out use, and you'll be fine. Tell yourself you'll only use it XX often, and don't break that.

In my opinion, cocaine is a great drug to use only occasionally for fun, without serious risk of becoming addicted(as long as your atleast slightly strong-willed and dont have a HUGE amount of cash to support a massive cocaine habit). Whenever ive done it (over 50 times) I think of it like this.....

I DO get addicted to it, but only while im on it.....you know how it is when your doin line after line and your feelin great, and when you start to fiend for some more you just bust out another line....until you run out of coke (and maybe money)......then you start feeling like shit(unless you got benzos or something similar to ease the comedown). You start wishing you could have just ONE more line, or you start thinking of ways you could get more....shit like that. You basically are withdrawing from coke and the comedown isnt fun, especially if you did alot for a long time.

BUT.....that comedown I just described isnt really that horrible...I mean....I would pick cocaine withdrawal over opiate withdrawal ANYDAY. Ive even begged for death a few times while in the midst of a heroin detox, but the worst ive done while coming down from coke is wake my dealer up to see if he would front me 1 line until tomorrow.(he wasnt happy)

Anyway, my point is that the addiction aspect of cocaine is very short lived and much less severe than many other types of drugs. Also, in my experience, whenever I would do coke, there was always a certain point that I reached after doing "X" amount of coke, where it wasnt really doing much for me anymore, and my nose would feel like someone poured cement into it.....these things would make me stop taking lines, even if I had a bunch left to do....and that says alot, because when it comes to getting high and euphoric off of drugs, I amost have no control over myself. I even sold my Nissan 240-SX for $500 so I could score some brown.

My main point is, in my opinion, it is very likely that someone will be capable of doing cocaine on an occasional basis without having to worry too much about becoming an addict.

It is very hard to chip. Any drug. I used to always start out by thinking I can just do it occasionally at a recreational dose, but it ends up taking over. It takes a lot of discipline and will power that I don't always have.

No other drug drags people in on so little and short term pleasure, for so much money, and with such quick and devastating results on their lives.

Hugely addictive, and in a very bad way, no matter what anyone on this board says about their subjective experience and ability to control it. Worst drug there is by a wide margin.

James Brown, i react the exact same way. for some reason coke is really only addicting when im on it, kinda in the same way that nitrous is. Basically for me doing coke is split a g or whatever we get between me and my friends, and then do it until its gone in one night. I have done this probably 20 times over the past couple years and have never just gone out and bought coke in the middle of the week or anything, nor had any cravings.

The drug is some more-ish, especially in the UK, its cut so much the time it reaches here the quality is poor while price stays the same at £30-40.

Here you can't just sniff one gram and be done, you want more constantly, I used to be on a quarter, round about £150 a night over the 3 days I was working.

Thanks for the fast replies. My last and first proper time I used it I went slightly nuts by accident and snorted half a g in 2 lines (misunderstanding with my friend who gave it to me + inexperience of quantities + being drunk hence very little common sense). Needless to say I was FUCKED UP for 2 and a half hours, the first 15 minutes of said time spent sweating and projectile vomiting with major panic. The good bit was really good though, and I had a lot of fun, and I did notice when I started easing off a bit (still high as a kite, but not quite airliner altitude) I would have had some more if there was any, but by no means was I desperate. The comedown hit me like a train, literally from 1 minute to another, and even though I felt like absolute death I don't recall fiending for any more, and the next day I just had a really bad hangover but again, no urge to get any more.
I did a 3/4 g night of mcat once, and that was very very morey, but probably cause I was taking it in small lines which wore off every 30 minutes or so.
I'm just a bit cautious with these things cause I have addiction in my genes. I'm heavily addicted to nicotine and can easily smoke 40 cigarettes on a night out, and have quite a few alcoholics in my family, but if next time I feel the same I don't think addicting to coke will be a problem :)

It can't be the worst drug of all in terms of addiction. Look at the people on this forum. Some will take anything (anything!) rather than stay sober. They're into faking scripts, injecting benzos, doing CWEs on the unlikliest pharm combinations, contemplating abusing pharms with no recreational potential. If a pharmacy got flooded, they would rush to lap up the water from the pools where medecines had marinated and gone bad. ANYTHING RATHER THAN STAY SOBER FOR A WHILE.

Now my guess is those people have become like this because of opiates.

Coke addicts are not like this. They will crave coke but they will not take in any garbage to substitute. It's coke or nothing. If no coke is available they prefer life as usual. It's a one-dimensional addiction.

This is oddly true.....opiates FUCK YOU UP....i would know as I was a IV heroin user for 4 years.....sold my car for drug cash, stole COUNTLESS expensive items to maintain my habit, I did things I would never write in a post or even speak about....its sad. Heroin completely changed me......I wasn't James, I was a 6 ft tall walking, talking fiend.

Coke doesnt come even close to having those kind of effects on me, or most other people.....Allthough I have met a couple people in my lifetime that TRULY AND WHOLEHEARTEDLY LOVED cocaine.......so much so that they would DO ANYTHING to get it. One guy even punched through his best friends apartment window(completely slashing the veins on his arms), in hopes of finding a line or two he could steal while his best friend was gone at work....(I bet he would have been happy with just an old coke baggie with residue in it)....sad. He ended up not finding any drugs, walked down the street while very quickly losing ALOT of blood through his arm/wrist.....and ended up passing out in an elementary school parking lot where he laid there until he died about 30 minutes later. *Unfortunately* some kid called 911 and the paramedics got there right after he died and somehow managed to bring him back to life(amazing what they can do these days). So after a couple weeks at the hospital where they grafted skin from his thigh to replace the missing flesh on his arm he was released and the VERY FIRST THING he did was call that so called "best friend" who he had smashed his window in and asked if he could get soem coke. Can you fucking believe that? Imagine the gaul. thats just straight up inhumane....and it was because of his adddiction to COCAINE.

These instances are rare though and opiates truly do cause MANY more addictions and overdoses than cocaine. I just thought that was a crazy story someone might be interested in hearing.

BTW....I NEVER fucking talked to that guy again. If I saw him today I would spit in his face. Only because, no matter how sick I was from withdrawing from heroin, it would never even cross my mind to rob my best friends house while hes at work, just to get a line of coke(or heroin), which may or may not even be there.

honestly i feel like the comedown from coke is so shitty and the high is so short lasting that i could never be dumb enough to be addicted. not to mention the price. jesus try some damn thizz
