Let me know what results you find! Bonsaing a monkeypuzzle tree like that has been on my bucket list for a while. I want to engineer a waterfall-like irrigation system for a series of bonsais, I'm actually working on some schematics for that today. I'll lyk if anything works out as far as that goes.
Running experiment on cutting s/ clones of a Ficus Benjaminii 'Ginseng'.
Which in tropical condition s form air-roots, which in theory should swell.
making the trunk look like a Ginseng root. They not yet thickening,

So its getting hotter winter over, so hope they pick up where they left.
As they outgrow my mini tropical Aquarium with a plastic box on top.

And the Seed of the Monkey Puzzle tree, it looked dry but viable.
Its in a moistened unbleached Coffee filter in a almost airless plastic bag.
In the dark, found only 1, And the tree is very capable to defend its fruits.
edit: gonna check the seed s after this, as it can go fast in a coffee bag.
But atm seeking what going on, stem clones of a Ficus Benjamina.
Ficus Benjamina (Weeping Fig)
"These Ficus bonsai species exude elegance with their graceful,
drooping foliage and occasional aerial root development."
My plant a false stem coming from a Ficus Ginseng.
A Ficus Ginseng trunk with a graft of a Ficus Microparca on it.
That one is doing great as long as i cut the false stem s.
So is it a Microparca grafted on a ...Microparca.
If so how false stems of a Benjamina form ?
Strange my first was also a Ginseng trunk, Benjamina on top.
Became a large one in 17 years. Didn t Bonsai it.
The other type seem way better for Bonsai.
But a mystery, what em i growing. The OG of the clones.
And how to keep keep Benjamina s small ?
