Hickies on Adults whats that all about?

So, I have this co worker wo is in her early 30's and she keeps coming to work with hickies on her neck. OK so you are an adult going to a job making like 50K a year and you have a college degree and you come to work with hickies. I just don't get it. I just find it gross.


Maybe its a ethnicity or a social difference, I don't know. But, If it were me I would be embarassed as hell.

Anyone care to comment?
 
Huh, yeah, as a teacher I dont think I could go around with hickies on my neck or any other visible spot. I mean I actually enjoy of rough play, but by this point I realize how my outer appearance is going to impact others especially at this age, so i prefer my hickies on....much more hidden areas of the body.

I wonder if she turned thirty and had a midlife crisis, so now she is being immature.

I agree that it looks unprofessional. I don't like hickies in general, though, or bruises that are clearly sex-induced. It's better to keep that sort of the thing in the bedroom. There was a woman I went to school with who would come to class with them all the time. I wished she'd at least have attempted to cover it up w/makeup or wear a turtleneck.
 
i dont know about hickies but if i let my girl gua sha spoon my neck it pulls up red similar to hickies.

ditto. altho there have been times that i had extremely hard to hide bruises and didn't care who noticed.

is it possible she doesn't realize how noticeable the hickies are?

Thats interesting though, and a different perspective on how one can judge another's appereanse and not know the whole story.

My g/f is a acupuncturist and gets into all of that stuff. She has a couple offices but i prefer to get that done at home in my bed. The marks clear after like 2 days. I got a full body one the other day legs, neck, back, chest. OMG i was in heaven. The marks only really showed up on my back, she didnt go to hard on my necks mainly for the reason was people might wonder wtf the marks were. Usually she does a small amount of it in conjunction with acupuncture. Honestly it was so relaxing and i felt literally like a new person. Its similar to cupping [link], ive never done fire cupping just normal suction cupping. Again so relaxing. As for health benefits there are lots of them, I wont get into it though because I really don't know.
 
omg when i get cupping done it is really bad.
they last forever and they are red/purple for over a week.

No she knows people sees them they have mentioned them.

I think they can look pretty unprofessional in the work place and steps should be taken to cover them up. I personally have pretty sensitive skin and it doesn't take a whole hell of a lot to give me one, I always try to cover them up in the event that I get one.

No. Those are not visible embarrassments.

I don't know, OP. A professional job would usually warrant the need for those hickies to be in unseen places. I know the one time, I had hickies all over my neck and I had to meet up with a professor of mine at college. I wore a turtleneck in 70 degree heat.
 
Unprofessional my dick. I think that while they don't look 100% professional maybe, what are people supposed to do, stop having sex? Maybe its time to grow up, I understand it, but holy shit, what if her partner likes giving hickies?? What if it turns her on to GET them?? what the fuck is she supposed to do, say "oh no don't fuck me and get me off, I have to look good at work tomorrow, boo hoo"...? It's part of life and people shouldn't be so bitchy and fucking judgemental about it. Some people have more fun than others. Don't be mad just because you're stuffy and boring in your old age... doesn't mean everybody has to be.
Let me guess, you're one of those people who drives a Volvo and gives me a dirty look for going 10 over the speed limit when I pass your ass because you're going 30 miles an hour??? Yeah, let's all complain because people are getting laid... OH NO!!!
