Heroin heroin quality: newbie question

I am a total newbie to posting on BL, so please bear with me.


I use heroin only a few times a month--been that way for about a year, so far I've been able to keep things under control--and when I do, my ROA is snorting. The amount is always small...around 1 bag for a day.


My question has to do with judging the quality of dope. I've found that the day after I use, my sinuses and throat usually burn/sting. Elsewhere on BL, I've read that this probably indicates that I'm getting crap H.


So this raises two questions.


1. Is poor quality probably the reason for burning throat and sinuses?
2. Aside from its potency, is there any good way to judge the quality of heroin?


These bring up one last question--more of a social one. Is it typical for H dealers to have product of varied quality on hand? For example, usually weed dealers give you a few choices when you buy: pay more, get better drugs. I'd like to get the best stuff that I can afford. But my source always just gives me whatever he gives me. Is that typical?

Sorry if I've asked anything really weird. I don't know any folks locally who I can get advice from, so I'm completely in the dark about how H-related stuff works.
 
I would not snort it mate - try chasing the dragon if your having issues.

Quality of dope where I get mine? Well all the people have the same pretty much - they say this is better than Mr X down the road but its always the same. I live UK.

Hash and weed is different though.
 
1) probably.. the only time i snorted dope (usually i smoke it on foil) it burned a bit for a few second but my nose was perfectly fine the day after.
2) to know the purity you should test it, otherwise there is no way to tell how good it is unless you try it of course.
3) i bouyht heroin just a few times so i don't have much experience, but sometimes my dealer has different types of dope and other times he has just one type. It depends.

P.S. I'd reduce Your usage to once a month/every 2 months. It's easy to get hooked.
 
Where are you at?

As for having various qualities on hand, it can happen, but it's not like weed. Usually you're going to get whatever he's got, but you might belucky and get a choice, sometimesyou get fire, sometimes you get burned.
 
Wow, I must have truly had good sources. I loved snorting dope. It felt great, I love the taste and smell. Plus it was so quick to do. Go to the bathroom, snort a bag, toss the bag in toilet and flush. I loved that routine.

Sounds like there is some dope cut with something not good. My #4 dope never hurt to snort. No sinus infections, etc.

Know your source. I had two solid sources that you could trust that you were getting HQ dope that wasn't cut with fent or anything that would cause nose bleeds or sinus infections.

Now, I just save up and get some oxy. It's easier to control oxy over dope IMO.

The only way I would imagine a H dealer having two different batches, so to speak would be a) if he isn't a user of said drug and charges a premium for the good stuff (and cuts it accordingly) or b) is a user and has a personal stash and a less pure stash that he sells.
 
way too many variables with heroin (and it's suppliers) to really answer that question

that's the main thing against heroin, you dont really know what you are getting unlike pharms.

it shouldnt damage your sinuses if you only do it every once and while, but gl with that. a bag a day may not seem like a lot (so and so shoots 5 at a time!), but it is already more than a habit. it's a trainwreck waiting to happen

I dont even realize all the shit I fucked up because of dope until I stop and actually start to make a list
 
please don't smoke your h as others have mentioned. Its EXTREMELY bad for you. It's worse than a properly performed IV injection. especially if its cut, which it sounds like it is.
also, when I was doing heroin, some dealers had one product, others 2. and sometimes it switched around, the guy that only had one type would have two etc..
as for quality... the way I was able to tell the quality of the product was to see how much it smelled of vinegar(I used to get the black tar)... other than that you really don't have a sure fire way of knowing the quality short of sending it to a lab to be tested. I guess experience teaches you to discern low quality from high quality to some extent as well.
 
dealers dont have different levels of shit because everything they have is supposedly really good
 
Vinegar smell used to give it away for me... If my dealer was out if town I would have to go to another district in the city. Sometimes, it was more potent, sometimes not... Sometimes a batch would be floating around through all the dealers that was utterly horrible to smoke and made me cough all through the night. Luckily. I got mostly consistent dope that wouldn't effect me in that way, but yeah ... Depends on cut.
When I cut the good stuff and snorted it with lactose, I didn't have an issue. Some dealers though.. If one doesn't know who to get it from, would pour vinegar on really bad dope. In 2 years, I got one batch like that... These types of dealers move around the city a bit, so people don't come after them, as they are more con artists then genuine drug dealers. Seemingly. They never delivered nor were on the same corner. /: :)
 
You haven't told us what kind of dope you have. Powder or tar?, if its powder is it freebase, or HCL?

If your snorting it I'm gonna guess its HCL powder heroin even though people sniff tar all the time. Does it burn going up? It should burn a little bit but not too bad it should go away quick if you get bad sore throats and sinus problems then you should stop doing this dope it doesn't sound good. If you try smoking it chances are its not even going to burn properly, lots will be wasted, itll start burning the hell out of your throat even more along with a horrid taste left in your mouth.

it's definitely not tar. I THINK it's #4 (same as HCL, right?). they guy I get it from injects the same shit, if that clarifies things.

doesn't burn going up. It's when I wake up the next day. Feels like a wicked case of post-nasal drip. Though I also shouldn't make it sound too terrible. It may be that my head is just irritated, and if that's the way it works snorting H, I can live with it. But this seems noticeably nastier than I've felt from other insulfated drugs. So I had been trying to figure out if it would be worth trying to find higher quality shit.
 
The truth of the matter is that there is really no fail safe way to know the purity off street dope until you do it.Unlike pharmaceutical drugs that are the same every time,street dope varies widely.Even your same,trusty dealer who you always get consistant quality stuff from can have his stuff change at the drop of a hat,sometimes without his knowledge.No batch of dope lasts forever.I've even had a trusted,regular dealer I went to everyday have one thing in the morning and something completely different that same afternoon.It looked the same,cooked up the same but quality was totally different.I knew him well enough to believe he honestly didn't know.Such is the way of street dope sometimes.
