Please post in the relevant forum.

Today, I learned from my best friend that someone we knew died of a heroin overdose last night. He was found by his neighbor. After hearing the news, the interesting thing that came to my mind after the shock wore off was a care for fellow Bluelighters. I don't know any of you. I've never spoken to anyone aside from posts in various threads. It just made me realize how these things can happen unexpectedly. I guess I just wanted to tell everyone to be safe. Please. Everyone on this site, even though most of us don't know each other, always have harm reduction advice to give. We are always considerate of one another; we look after each other.

I guess the summed up meaning of this post is to just be careful. He was only 26 years old. He had a life ahead of him, and because he wasn't careful, he overdosed.

Stay safe everyone. Take care.

So true..
It's too easy to get so caught up you just want more more more more and also just to take a drug for granted. But it only takes one time, one mistake, one bad choice.

Nice message and sorry to hear about your friend Trixie.

Sorry to hear about that. I had to go to a friends funeral about 6 months ago and it put things in perspective that's for sure. I would love to meet some of my fellow BLers IRL someday. You all are great people.

It doesn't ever get easier when people die.

My best friend ODed on Sept 29 04. My SISTER died from and OD on Sept 29th 05. Another one of my best friends killed himself a couple of years later, and yet ANOTHER of my best friends died due to complications with drugs and alcohol soon thereafter.

Those were the ones who were REALLY close.

There have been a total of 29 people I know who have died over the past 7 years.

Sometimes I feel like the harbinger of death because everyone around me seems to drop like flies.

There are 3 options to IV drug use and crack addiction:

1) go to jail
2) die
3) stop that shit

I luckily chose to stop that shit. Death is just so permanent.
