I'm a long term opiate user (all kinds), most recently 8mg/day suboxone and was abruptly cut off. I'm broke till Friday so I can't score anything. Also trying to work at a restaurant. I'm barely managing on high doses of loperamide along with naproxen for pain and coffee & sweets for energy. Of course I'm miserable. Any advice?

Thanks,
jasper

Potassium really helps me with RLS. I use OTC sleep meds at night (not that they help much but better than nothing). I've heard DXM (dextromethorphan-spelling?) Helps a bit but I've never personally tried it. B vitamins will help get some energy back. I've also been hearing a lot about Kratom but still have yet to test it for myself.

It's sucks but you're not gonna get much better than you're doing. Of course you might all ready have figured that being an opiate addict. I can really relate cuz I manage a kitchen and man is it hell during withdrawal. If you can get away with a t-shirt I started buying those basket ball shirts that are loose with breathing holes all down the side (you can find all black so you don't look silly). It helps me with the sweats and hot flashes. Then if you get cold just hangout by the grill.

I've also found binaural beats tend to help relieve my anxiety a bit. If you can pop in headphones during a break maybe give that a try.

Hey Jasper,

Sorry to hear you're going through it. Many of us, have been or are exactly where you are. Maybe you need to increase your dosage of loperamide right now?

There's a video by a guy named Aaron Cohen on youtube. He had a medical condition that requires fairly frequent surgeries, and the doctor is kind enough to get him dependent on oxycodone, and send him home without any Rx's or detox plan. He has some good suggestions.

Everyone is different. ... I didn't feel good the first three days, couldn't sleep, anxious, etc...then I seemed to adjust. Whereas, others feel fine right away.

AllorNothing, made a great suggestion about Potassium. Magnesium is also a good thing to add. Just hang on. Somehow, you're going to get through it You're certainly at the right website. S
