help me trip out on mushroom tea?

my boyfriend just got a shitload of ground mushrooms. first of all, i like to know what's going into my body & i've never gotten ground up mushrooms before so i'm going to describe what they look like & you tell me...

it's about 15g or (assuming) not dried mushrooms. most of them were very fine, but there was some white spongy clusters inside. it doesn't smell like anything. i tasted a little bit & it stuck to my teeth. there's also little flakes of shiny gold things. it doesn't feel dry or anything.

we got 3 tea packets & emptied all the tea out & stuffed about 3.5-4.0 grams in one tea bag. i've only done shrooms once, but i've done acid & salvia too.

i know how to make the tea, but for some reason, when i take psychedelics, it takes a good 3-4 hours for it to kick in. i've always gotten a good trip, it just takes awhile. i know orange juice can help... but is there anything else?

how hard will i trip with tea? how long will it take to kick in? is there any for sure sign to tell it's mushrooms? thanks everyone!
 
if it has wee gold flakes (substrate; aka the growth medium) then its most likely the genuine shabang.

the ground up shrooms should have a white, gold, and blue mix seeing as their ground up.

you said they're not dried?

if you've have Psilocybin mushrooms before, then just taste a bit.

with tea the effects are usually noticed at about 40 minutes.
try and pick out the gold bits of substrate as you're not meant to eat it.
(before you brew the tea.)

after you brew the tea, get a large bowl and a seive,strainer ready to filter the tea through
to make sure you dont get chunks of gooey mush and substrate in your cups.

how would i pick out the gold flakes in it? it's already in a teabag now... do you think that would filter it pretty good?

un bag it, go through it and try to pick out as much of the substrate as possible.

last time i had mushy tea, it was brewed with the substrate left in,
which gave it a funky background taste (not nice) and made me puke a little. repeatedly.


and a tea bag will filter it well but ideally, you want to be bringing the mushroom/water mixture to a slight boil in a pot on the stove/hob. then filter it as i said.

this way it allows you to stir the mix properly and get the most out of it, while allowing a large amount to be brewed up.


and you will trip pretty decently.


contrary to popular belief, orange juice actually neutralizes an lsd or mushroom experience.

not really neutralizes, but makes it FAR less strong.
so stay away from orange juice.
 
alright, good to know about the oragne juice. is there anything i can do to make it come faster? i'm just worried that it'll take forever to set in. last time that happened, my friend was tripping/coming down by the time i started to feel anything.
 
maybe you have a high tolerance to psilocin or psilocybin due to some kind of enzyme naturally present in your body?

have you only taken shrooms once before?

how much have you taken previously for trips?


when eating shrooms, its best to chew them up for as long as possible until; your mouth is full of liquid mush, slosh it around a bit, THEN swallow.
the enzymes in your saliva will break the shroomage down quicker this way.

how much are you brewing up?
(the boiling in the pot method is FAR more effective than simply putting boiled water in a cup, then putting a shroom-bag in)
 
i've only done mushrooms once before, half of an eighth. i've taken acid 2 times & salvia once.

so, after i'm done with the tea bags, should i eat the rest of them & crush them up in my mouth?

i've heard that the heat from the water causes the mushrooms to be weaker. i'm not too sure if that's true or not. we have 2 3.5gr bags & 1 4.0 bag for 3 people.
 
in order to know exactly how much mushroom you are consuming, it is always advisable to ensure the material is 100% dry before weighing. place your teabags in a container with fresh silica gel to absorb all moisture.

personally i would not boil the mush matter as psilocin is sensitive to heat. i have never had any problems just pouring freshly boiled water over shrooms and drinking the resulting tea. if you are worried about nausea i wouldn't eat the fungal matter, but you can re-brew the same bag (three times is the magic number usually) to be sure you extract the most. if you don't forsee a problem with nausea (especially if you use fresh ginger root) then maximum efficiency would be to simply swallow the mush matter.

some people swear by the lemon method-- simply place your powdered mushroom in a shot glass and fill with lemon juice (fresh squeezed). let it soak for 10 minutes, then down the whole thing. chase with ginger tea for taste. most people report that this allows it to kick in within 20 minutes of ingestion.

adding lemon juice or vitamin c crystals to the tea should increase extraction (and make a more delicious tea), and fresh ginger root always improves one's general well-being. however i also have noticed (as sega said) that too much orange juice or vitamin c can actually kill the trip. i'm not sure of the exact mechanism, but i have a feeling it has to do with increasing the body's natural ability to excrete compounds that are ingested.

of course, fasting a few hours beforehand will improve the amount of drug that is absorbed, but a small amount of food after consumption will help stimulate digestion and bring bloodflow to the stomach lining.
