Getting really drunk without drinking much

Hey guys,

so I'm not usually a heavy drinker, simply because of how bad it is for you. Tonight though, I want to get plastered. In the interest of harm-reduction, I'd like to get as drunk as possible while consuming as little alcohol as possible (since the metabolites of alcohol are even more damaging than the alcohol itself). Is there anything I can eat, drink, or otherwise consume that will potentiate the effect of alcohol over the course of the night?

There is one obvious answer, but since this is a harm reduction forum, I'm not sure if the mods would be happy with me posting a potentially lethal combo.

Otherwise, don't eat anything before/during drinking.

^I assume he is talking about taking some other drugs with the alcohol, which is not potentiating the effects of alcohol and for the interest of HR is very dangerous, especially with an inexperienced drinker. The only way to get more drunk is to drink more alcohol. You can drink on an empty stomach, but that means you will just absorb more of the alcohol you drank and at a faster rate. If you want to help reduce the damage from alcohol then take a B vitamin supplement and maybe a magnesium supplement. This will help replenish the heavy loss of B vitamins that alcohol causes and therefore helps reduce harm to the liver. And of course prehydrate so you don't dehydrate and drink water through out the night.

To clarify, I'm not looking for drugs to take per say. I know I can mix opiates (and other drugs) with alcohol. I'm more interested in something available legally that I can buy that might lessen the amount I have to drink.

I'm not an inexperienced drinker though lol. And I know it's possible to do what I'm interested in doing.

It's common knowledge that when taking opiates you can eat foods (grapefruit) that inhibit a specific enzyme in your liver, causing you to feel more of an effect from (ie potentiate) the drugs. The same idea should apply to alcohol.

Drink (around) 5-6 shots of vodka. You'll be really drunk then. Once you're at that point. Do only two more shots, no more the rest of the night. You'll be extremely wasted, falling over yourself, probably start puking your guts up, etc. You won't die, but when you wake you'll wish you had.

drinking quicker works very well. drinking on little sleep or an empty stomach, too.

one thing i find to hugely impact my tolerance actually is drinking something you're not used to... you a beer drinker? get two bottles of wine. every 6 or 7 months i switch up my primary drink and my tolerance bottoms out.

Don't eat anything before and during and donate blood on the same day. That's the best you can do without mixing with other drugs.

This, but this is clearly very dangerous if done without causion... I would suggest that you dont try this with high doses and start very slowly.

By the way this work is not mine, Ive picked it up from another forum and im not the author.

P450 ENZYMES

CYP1A2

SPECIAL NOTES ON COFFEE
Coffee induces and inhibits CYP1A2. Inhibition is the initial effect, followed later by induction. Therefore coffee should NOT be used as a CYP1A2 inhibitor. Because coffee both inhibits and induces CYP1A2, it’s very difficult to categorize it in this fact sheet. It’s been shown in my own tests that using coffee at the onset and during the peak of the effects from allylbenzenes can greatly boost the effects. Why it does this is not known. It’s also been shown that drinking too much coffee throughout the day prior to using allylbenzenes seems to have a detrimental effect on the allylbenzenes. It’s assumed that this from CYP1A2 induction, but this is only a theory.

Might as well say what's on everyones minds - take 10mg diazepam before drinking.

I always heard that asprin thins your blood thereby making someone more susceptible to the affects of alcohol. In the interest of HR, I wouldn't recommend this, either. Why not just pace yourself, have a nice glass of ice water between drinks so you don't get hungover, and call it an evening?

If you are looking for something similar to what GFJ or tagamet does for opiates/benzos it isn't going to reduce the amount of metabolites. It just slows down the speed at which its metabolized, but it all happens eventually. It makes sense for opiates because they are expensive, but alcohol is cheap so might as well just drink more. Honestly the damage from one night of binge drinking is not much to worry about.

And adding a benzo to it is not potentiating, its getting fucked up on 2 things. Of course IME it works well to get a good buzz with a small dose of a benzo and 3-4 beers. In place of drinking 8 or so beers. That way you end up avoiding a hangover, too. But its most certainly a combo to be done in moderation.

Very helpful QUARE, thanks. According to http://pubs.niaaa.nih.gov/publications/AA72/AA72.htm you want to slow down the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), responsible for metabolizing ethanol into acetaldehyde (very toxic) without inhibiting aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH). Fast ADH or slow ALDH will cause buildup of acetaldehyde, which I'm trying to avoid.

It looks like alcohol is also broken down into reactive radical oxygen species. So antioxidants would be a wise thing to consume during and after binge drinking. Will pomegranate Juice work for this or is that a hoax?

Yes and it goes against HR which this board should be about which is why I didn't say it immediately. But it is kinda the obvious choice here.

I'm living next to the biggest party town in the United States and this weekend (Halloween) is the biggest party weekend of the year. Everybody is getting obliterated. This is my last year at school here and I want to be completely smashed. But I have to study for a midterm tomorrow and want to avoid a hangover as much as possible. And I don't have access to many other drugs.

Maybe we can help you with the hangover part? Ephedrine is still legal in the US right? That always got rid of any hangover I ever got.
