Long time reader so thought I'd say high. I mean hi. (genuine typo - thought I'd keep it in!).

I'm from the UK, South East. Exploring the site for pain relief options. Currently on 15 Microgram Butec patches. They work very well, but I do get breakthrough pain a few times a week. Did have Private prescription for cannabis oil - since its not available on the NHS - but it's too expensive for me.

I had to give up work a couple of years ago.... and I pretty much hate it. So I'm trying to find solutions to improve my quality of life so that I am stable enough to do some form of work, even if it's just the odd day. My main problem is that, whilst I have days where I'm perfectly functional, there are also days where I'm not - which is about 60% of the time - and it's completely unpredictable.

The self-employed route is probably the way to go, but I need a more stable foundation before I can consider that.

Im thankful that my GP took pity on me and prescribed the Butec as its made a huge difference to my quality of life.

On my travels around the Internet I found useful white paper relating to opiate potentiation using OTC medication. Im sure this has already been widely circulated on here already - if not let me know. I took the liberty of creating a PDF of the study in case it got delisted from Google.

love genuine typos and keeping them, i babble to a friend in pm, and i reread the Freudian garters and laughed, ok slips...oh mah dog you recirculated! hold me back, wait , that was code for welcome to BL in my head.youre A list( typed ure a losr on accident and back spaced) delisted Aye?

bless your GP
Tell me about it. I was on DHC for years but I'd built up such a tolerance on it that I had to take at least 16 a day for it to make a difference. As my script was for 8 a day they ran out pretty quickly, which left me in miserable withdrawal (shudders). The patches are fantastic for me. It's just the breakthrough pain that's...well, a pain!

I wish the UK government would catch up with the rest of the western world and make medicinal cannabis more accessible. But, then, that's not what you our dear leader wants to be remembered for. Especially after he got caught throwing parties during lockdown - I would imagine that many Conservative voters would NOT be happy about it. God, I hate Boris Johnson. He's an amalgam of every single clichéd corrupt politician. He makes Berlusconi look like Shirley Temple.

i live in pain , but the horrors of others pains ,makes my pain nothing, i try not to hate boris, i mean it, got my own politicians to revile, but i looked up the people you mentioned , and im sticking by shirl, i love the way you share

Welcome fellow yookay person

You got a private script for cannabis oil in uk? wow - what kind of oil we talking about here? what kinda potency and what was the pain relief like?

You mention breakthrough pain but ofc as we all know if in chronic pain...well nothing is ever gonna completely remove that, but we can hopefully make it tolerable etc...I too use oils for pain relief (on rotation)

and yeah fuck Boris obvs... I think we're a decade minumum from any kind of relaxation on the cannabis laws nomatter who is in power though unfortunately, it's fucked up, sigh

Hi again. Could anyone help with which board I should post a questions relating to using DMSO to increase the bio-availability of transdermal pain relief patches (Butec)?I did find This post - the OP posted a follow-up and added a link, which, whilst was pretty useful, I have some follow-up questions that are probably best answered by someone with a pretty good grasp on the actual chemistry (I'm sure there are plenty of you on here!) I saw that it was suggested the Op move the thread to the Juice Bar, but I'm not sure if that's the best place, given I'm specifically asking about pain management rather than it being sports related?

I'm sorry for the lack of response! It was from the Cannabis Access Clinic: https://cannabisaccessclinics.co.uk/

Yes, it was fantastic - and can fully vouch for them - I actually picked the medicine itself up from a local chemist (the stockist just sends it straight to a pharmacy of your choice as long as its in their network). So all legit.

They have significantly reduced the overall cost now, so I'm going go look at perhaps going back to them - but, at the time, the end to end process was insanely expensive. Not ideal for someone like me who's scrounging off the tax-payer (excuse the self-deprecation - it's just a gripe I have with the attitude the UK has).

Thankfully, they have reduced the prices significantly since I saw them 18 months ago. When I say it was expensive, I mean:
* £300 for the initial consultation

* £50 for them to physically type out the prescription and send it to the pharmacy (lol)

* £300 for a months supply of THC oil (so no, not CBD, lol)

But wait, there's more...
THEN
*£250 for a mandatory monthly follow up Inc them sending the prescription to chemist... then there was a 3 month followup...

.... so yeah.
I had oil too which was the most expensive option too - but they do prescribe other forms (flower, vape, etc) which they said were more affordable.... but there was no way I could afford the
I had to tell them I couldn't afford it. The only reason I had the cash initially for the first dose was because of a 4 year PIP backpayment following my successful Tribunal appeal.

They didn't quite seem to understand that their client base would probably be, well, poorly people who can't work...

Then I got an email stating that they'd reduced the consultation fees....
Then another saying they'd ditched the monthly follow fees completely....
Then another email about price reductions... but at the time I was struggling big style financially and I just couldn't afford it, even with substantial reductions.

I suspect they lowered their prices because they were unable to get a solid, client base with return customers due to the prohibitive costs... not because of the goodness of theirs hearts! I'm sure they had a load of investers who were pushing for maximum profit, but soon realised that people needing it couldn't afford it. I have a hunch they may have thought people would go there and get it recreationally. It was suspiciously easy to get the prescription and I didn't even need to show them any proof of my condition (altho they did write to my GP at least). But people who do dope recreationally can usually already get it easily and for far cheaper... which perhaps they didn't factor in. I could be wrong there tho. If I could get it locally then I'd not go down the prescription route too!

If you have the money and want to try them out then have no fear, they're legit. You do NOT need a GP refferal. And yeah, they're licensed doctors.

They did all my consultations remotely too, due to Covid - which is good when you don't live in London.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

Really don't know 'cause have read confusing reports about transdermal bioavailability of bupr. Some said it's quite big-about 90 percent,others-much less....may be also there is disimillarities between these, that are for three days use and another ones-for a week use
