Hello everyone first off i wanna apologize for the lack of proper grammer punctuation etc im in a hurry phones about to die lol anyway i have a quick question for all the members with experiance at the doctors office heres my question first off if this isnt in the right place please relocate to proper forum anyhow i need to go to the dr for anxiety depression and some other problems i know alot of the medications they prescribe are controlled substances long story short i self medicate for chronic pain so i take opiates yes i do use them recreationally on ocassion my question is what controlled substances generally require drug testing before being prescribed like what schedule has to be drug tested before writing a prescription is it just schedule ii or in very rare cases being prescribed schedule i or do all controlled substances require a drug test i dont have the money right now to have all the tests done on my back etc to get narcotic pain killers so im really just needing something for anxiety depression etc example xanax or another benzo for anxiety and panic attacks and whatever is prescribed for depression do those require drug testing i have no desire to use anything but opiates recreationally and thats just every now and then anyway im sure yall get the idea of what im trying to ask if it helps i live in missouri thanks everyone!!

Where I live the DR is not required to test for anything before writing a prescription for anxiety meds. It might be different in Missouri, not sure.

^ yeah man, I live in Texas and got prescribed adderall vyvanse all that kind of stuff and never got drug tested. in Texas is a very Republican state so I'd imagine if I didn't get drug tested in Texas then you will be fine in Missouri

In my experience the only places that actively drug test are pain management clinics/doctors. My pcp gave me a UA not too long ago, but she's fully aware of my addiction history and wanted to know I was clean before prescribing a CV (pregabalin), which I can understand.

The mods are probably gonna hit you, there's not supposed to be any topics relating to drug testing. Just letting you know.

^I thought since it was for a legitimate medical purpose it may be allowed.

I think because it's not about a probation test or your parents testing you, and that it is for a doctor in harm reduction it would be allowed
