If a personal Heaven was real, what would your personal one be?

To me, I believe that the idea of a personal luxurious heaven as an afterlife appeals to greedy and myopic desires.

Although it may sound appealing at first, I believe that conscious immortality is among the most horrific things imaginable.
Sure the first thousand years of extreme satisfaction be it sex, wealth whatever may be a lot of fun, what about the next thousand years, the next million, the next billion....

I think the impending eventual death should not be feared, but in fact embraced,it's what makes life worth living. It's why we bother doing anything, it's what makes achieving things satisfactory. Without it, you'd just be sitting in a state of catatonia, since why bother doing anything else, what's the hurry.

Any way, to answer the question, I'd probably wish my self to be in a chemically induced near-coma state, not enough to be properly alive, or sentient, just comfortably numb

I think when you die, you just divide yourself by zero, nothing happens to "you", because you cease to be

Edited the post to be more of more temperance, and sober

"you" cease to be but the I of you carries on.

to me, "heaven" is the return of the individual Soul to the accumulative Spirit, the celestial body of God, to which Christ is a White Dwarf acting as the heart. There is no cognition of the lack of a physical form, for what is conceived by you could be another planet, some sort of vehicle that you dream up, be it a streak of light, or what you remember as a car or train.

A promised land scenario I dont believe in, but the aether and in its most microscopic form could to the passed be like an entire other universe.

A common question is: If Heaven was real, what would your personal one be?

Well, Heaven is just the wet dream of greedy and myopic mortals. Immortality is the most horrific thing I can think of. Sure the first thousand years of your infinity long orgasm may be fun, but the next billion, and the trillion after that.
Why do you think eternity/immortality in terms of years?

What is eternal can be called Being. Being is unchanging (else it would be not-being). One can try to search for Being (eternity, immortality) in the world of becoming (finite and changing reality).

In this picture, someone can perfectly find that what is unchanging is the passion and aspiration for the good IN the human Spirit (right now, say: some teenage girl standing in front of the mirror dressing herself up full of expectations for her date, some grandmother standing in the store thinking what her grandchildren would like to eat, a man thinking of his beloving partner, some sport-athlete training and pushing his body to the limits, someone who just got fired still hoping to get some better future, etc.). This movement towards the Good (call it Heaven if you like) common in all my examples, is what I would call THE SOUL -- as distinct from a psychological ego. Probably this distinction can also be framed in Hinduism-terminology: Atman/Brahman vs. psychological ego (Maya).

And in this sense, I conceive of the human being as Immortal. This understanding makes much more sense than saying one moves to some kind of transcendent "other" realm after 60-80 years. Immortality and eternity are Immanent in Reality. I cannot imagine the human soul every going away, contrary to what scientist suggest, when they claim that stars will explode in 10 000 of years and earth will evaporate (at least, according to some hyper-abstraction and mathematical-schizophrenic calculations). What is "eternal" is what stays the same and has always been. Even when my physical body has died, I am convinced there will still be human Spirit just like there has "always been," and will always "be" (e.g. parents, caring and loving their children, exactly like their parents have done before).

Just wanted to make a tiny correction, Psyduck, as far as Maya. Psychological/Ego is a the target, part of Mayas devise, but, more then just Psych/Ego, Maya is illusion and delusion. "She" does nothing directly in favor for the Psych/Ego, besides push to shatter how this materiel world is rationalized and understood, and further discerning new points-of-views of the earth and humanity.

... Maya is not the veil keeper, per say, but rather She who provides...a preliminary warm up ;) smoke and mirrors before the veil.

Now if you wanted to get really into it, ISIS/Ishtar/Inanna, THE female pantheon, She with a 1000 names, maybe ISIS is Maya, warming it up before the full on.

_________
Here is a poem or prose I wrote inspired by Maya; during my shoots and ladders with the spiritual esoteric
;)

Between Pandora-Maya & Fear
Lies a three headed serpent -
of which one mouth holds greed one mouth holds lust,
and in another,
is loneliness.

the gardens around the temple of heaven in beijing is as close to heavenly as i've seen.

Floating on clouds, naked female winged angles flying around, perky DD's hanging out, delivering me a new Belgian beer every time I finish one. A one ton brick of highly-potent marijuana to slowly smoke. A whole harem of Asian women to fuck whenever I please, with my 12" penis. Complete bliss 24/7/365/∞.

just kidding...

kinda

@ninjadanslarbretabar

The original post was bad, and I've cleaned it a bit

It was incredibly self absorbed. Was not in the best of mindsets, I'm not usually that boorish. It insulted people's beliefs and I sincerely regret offending anyone. There is no place for that sort of thing here, I'll put much more tact into posts in future

When it comes to one's spiritual views there is no "correct" view for these sort of things, it's a personal thing, my opinion about the afterlife is no better than anyone else's

Physical heaven up there...its all a big bullshit story lol.
you either create heaven or hell right here on earth, the way you decide to live and how you react to things. Learn about yourself and go deeper into your self if you really wanna find heaven..dont expect asnwers from some book lol.

One ton of weed would be gone in less than 1% of your time in heaven (assuming it is eternal).
I would go for a gram a day, plus some good hash.
And Belgian beer would definitely be a good choice.
But maybe red wine would go better with the 10-mushroom, garlic pasta I would eat for dinner every night.

We are products of our physical brains processing data that includes its own thoughts, this recursive nature gives rise to the capacity for subjective experience of the universe and without the physical structures of the brain holding the logic gates and chemical reactions and electrical shit in place then our subjective experience is lost forever and we die. There is no way around this and no evidence of anything but death.

I don't smoke very often, so one ton would last a while...

Pizza, for me.

I dont think if there were a stereotypical "heaven" i'd be going to it. I'd be going to the other place, and so i'll describe what i think hell will be like with a joke that i read years ago.

3 men live sinful lives. 1 man flounders himself around sexually all of his life without once getting married. The 2nd man drinks himself into oblivion and hurts everyone around him. The 3rd man smokes massive quantities of marijuana all day, every day for his entire life. Consequently they all eventually die and when greeted by satan in hell, the devil says to the men: this is hell, i'm going to show you to your respective rooms where you will spend the rest of eternity in. The devil takes the first man and opens a blue door and shows him in... There are naked women everywhere of all colors, shapes and sizes, all extremely beautiful. The devil explains: you will stay in this room forever, living in sin like you did on earth, i will check back in on you in 100 years, he closes the door.

The devil takes the 2nd man(the alchoholic) and opens a red door for him and shows him in. There are bars stretching for miles with every kind of alchohol you could ever dream of. The man walks in gleaming. The devil says, you will live in sin like you did on earth forever, i will be back in 100 years to check on you and he closes the door.

The devil shows the stoner to his room, opens the green door, and there are atleast 1 million marijuana plants stretching for miles, buds of all different kinds, there is an astonishing collection of bongs, pipes, vaporizors, bubblers, joint raps, etc. The devil says, you will live in this room forever in sin like you did on earth. The stoner peacefully walks over in between two plants and sits down cross legged (indian style). The devil says he'll be back in 100 years.

100 years later he is back, he opens the blue door and the pervert is being raped by 3 women, he breaks free of the women, runs out the door screaming "fuck i hate this place! about 70 years ago i realized im gay! fuuuuuuck!". The devil chases him down and hauls him back in and then goes to the next door. The alchoholic is throwing up, crawling towards the devil's feet "please let me out" the man says, "after 2 years of all the alchohol i could ever want it got sickening and something about this room is forcing me to keep drinking and i hate it, please mister!". The devil slams the door on his face and proceeds to the next room. He opens the green door and sees the stoner sitting cross legged, he hadn't moved and inch. The stoner turns around to face the devil, tears streaming down his face and he asks, "do you got a light?"

My "heaven" would to just be present in stillness and silence, forever. No time, no mind, just stillness. Perfect :)
