Hash Oil Questions

Hey, I am wondering how much material would be needed at minimum to make some hash oil? I only have like 7 grams of ground up pot/small leaves, and as its alot of leaf I dont want to smoke it so would that be enough to quickly make enough for myself? Or I could buy another oz or 2 if I need to I just dunno how much is needed.

And also I only have 70% alcohol here is that ok or does it need to be 99? Could I just evaporate off the extra water?

At least an ounce of trim or half o of bud to make it worth it.

DO NOT USE 70% isopropyl. Always use 99% ONLY.

As for evaporating the water off, how are you going to be sure and test it to be 99%?

If you use anything under 99% you are introducing yourself to some health issues as well as bad smoking/tasting hash oil.
 
to add onto that... If you want to test even the 99% to make sure it is pure, drop some on a clean piece of glass (desk, table, etc) and if it all evaporates it is good... but if there is a film left behind you know youll be smoking that too! just be cautious. iso that is 70% may not have just water and anyways, water will evaporate at a higher temperature which means you cant get rid of it. iso oil is awesome. i still have mine i made a while ago. It gets you real ripped.

7 grams of good bud will get you a nice amount of oil to smoke on for a while.

I recommend using no less than 99% proof alcohol for making it.

Also, don't leave the buds in the alcohol for more than 60 seconds if you want DANK BROWN oil, instead of green looking and tasting stuff.
 
i used to do small bho runs withs 3.5 gs of heads with an SS turkey baster, n i would return ~.5-.7gs of oil which would last ~as long as the 8th woulda

how many grams of hash oil would you get from 7 grams of bud? or would you get less than a g?

you would get a gram or more from nugs. a gram or less if using shake.

edit:depends on quality though

i uslly use a ounce of bone dry leaf grind it up until its powder get a glass jar put the weed in it get some 99% isopropyl alcohol pour the alcohol over the powder and put in just enuf alcohol to cover the powder or a tiny bit more.shake it violentley let it sit for 2 hours sake again and repate tis for 24 hours.come back puour the soulation through a coffie filter squize the filter making sure u got every bit of alcohol out of the powder pour it into a stainless stele boul and leave it in the sun to evaperate.and tadah you got your self sme %70 thc hash oil.
i usally get 2 grams of oil out of a ounce of good dry leaf

2 grams from an ounce of leaf? and your soaking for 24 hours? and its 70% THC?

Rick Simpson is THE ultimate authority in hash oil. And yes, you could use isopropyl alcohol because you'll evaporate ALL of it. 70% will work, 90-99% will work even better. Only thing I would recommend is to mix the material for longer time than Rick is suggesting. For 7 grams of material you'll finish with about 0.8-1 gram of oil.

You'll never get 'golden oil' using alcohol whatever you do. You'll finish with dark, brownish oil. Using butane or naphtha will got you (apparently bellowed) 'golden oil', as gold as baby bottom ;).

60 seconds is not enough time to extract all the goodies.

Good leaf from some specially breed-ed males are more potent than any kind of buds.

And now you know.
 
Please use the search engine - this subject has been covered just a little while ago, and many times before. It's not like anything has changed in that time span :)

It seem as if you've gotten the majority of your answers in this thread already.
