Has anyone heard about the potential Kratom ban in New York State?? Opinions?

Supposedly the senate is trying to ban Kratom in NY state and there was a meeting just the other day which made it look like this might happen.

As someone who likes Kratom I'm getting concerned.

I'd like to know if it is for the purchase of Kratom in New York state like at headshops only or if it really means New Yorkers won't be able to order it from vendors out of state.

This shit is SOOO fucked up how they can make decisions about what we put in our bodies.

Anyone who knows about this I'd appreciate your opinions.
 
Haven't heard about it but that would be so ridiculous. If anything they should be promoting kratom in the name of harm reduction.
 
It got banned in VT in the last few years because there s the whole opiate scare bullshit. Places wouldn't even mail it to a VT address. Funny since now it's in stores in Oregon.

Same here but apparently without ANY kind of tolerance it should give you a mild opiate-lite effect.

I tried it a few times without any tolerance at all, and did feel something, but it was very mild and a bit of a 'dirty' high IMO.

Maybe that's your personal opinion in terms of you not responding to it cause everyone is different but it gets me HIGH AS HELL.

I mean I've gotten so high off it I'll be scratching my back for 30mins because of the opioid effect on histamines so that ain't NOTHING like caffeine.

Enough users here get high off it that it's safe to say it's a mind altering drug (so is caffeine by the way) and there's solid evidence it hits the Mu-Opioid receptor so that alone is proof its a drug.

And let me tell you if you do the extracts (which are almost like a different drug from plain Kratom) I don't care HOW insensitive you are to its effects you'll get high too.

Do a strong dose of UEI from a good vendor and you'll think you took Oxycondone/Oxycontin/Vicodin if you didn't know better.

Do you do a lot of strong opiates like Heroin, Fentanyl or high doses of Dilaudid, Oxycodone/Oxycondtin or Vicodin??

If so, that could be the reason but don't assume your tolerance being high makes it not a drug for opiate naives users like myself.
 
I don't know, I read this on Reddit but most people agree that there's a LOT of steps that would have to happen before it would actually be banned in NY.

Still, its fucked up and I hope it doesn't happen.

I know people who have used heroin (not currently) who still get a good mood boosting effect, if not a full blown HIGH, off Kratom, enough so that they continue buying and using it.

It's a real drug for sure.

It's just that everyone responds to drugs differently and Kratom is one of the MOST variable drug in terms of effects out of any drug I know of.

It's SO dependent on strain, dosage, your personal genetics and make up, your opiate tolerance and past drug use, your size, what you eat or don't eat or mix or don't mix with it etc etc.

It's a weird drug for sure.
 
Kratom is relatively safe. But, I've nodded my dick off on it, haha. Granted I took a fair amount.

I agree that it should be kept legal for harm reduction and recreational reasons. Then again I think all drugs should be decriminalized.
