Ive heard tell that science is working on pain killers amongst so many others. The kind of meds that have proven so difficult to get even for those wth a legitament need in the community. One solution that doesn't sound like its too far off the horizon are medications that are genetically programmed each individual, and willwork ONLY for the patient they are prescribed for.
