Well if anybody saw my picture of my plant I was growing, well by next week it should be harvesting time. I read on overgrow on how to cut them and dry them but I do not completly understand it. I understand that part of cutting off the bud and hanging it upside down but it also said something about hanging it in the same size room as you grew it. Now I grew mine out side so how do I dry it? I don't want my very good buds to grow mold or over dry or anything worse then that.

Read the FAQ about harvesting, drying and curing at overgrow. Im not sure what you're talking about as far as room size. I could see a small room being a problem with a lot of pot keeping the humidity too high, but with one plant you are fine.

Thats what I am talking about. I read it and I dind't understand it.

i wouldnt worry about that.. just make sure you put it someplace where it will stay a steady temp (high 60*F preffered and humidity around 50% ) a closet should be fine for one small to regular sized plant.. if you got some giant 6 foot monster maybe not though hehe

The reason why they say have the dry room the same size as the grow room, is so that you don't put too many drying plants together, and restrict air flow.

The important things, is while the plants are drying, that they don't touch each other. There is some disagreement about airflow. I think a draft is good, some think there shouldn't be any airflow. Keep them dark, and the air average humidity

is it true that if u put ur plant in a dark room it thinks its gonna die.. and starts preducing more thc?

^^ actually it is a trick used by some growers at the end or flowering to cut the light out for a few days..

not sure how well it works though ??

as for the airflow thing, you need a fan with shrooms to get rid of the rising damp.. so i would assume it would be better with the plants, otherwise the humidty could get too high and cause mold.

Definatly not a fan, you buds will be too dry, or wont cure nice. You can use a fan if you want ghetto chronic, if you're in a hurry.

and of course the most important question of all, will there be a smell coming from them drying? I don't think my mom or dad want to be walking by my room and all of a sudden look in my closet and find a bunch of buds hanging upside down.

If you have a carbon filter it's possible, but I assume you don't since you've been growing outside.. Btw, having a smal fan nearby to circulate airflow isn't bad, it won't fuck up your buds.

Also, about the dark cycle before flowering/drying, it hasn't been proven that the plant will produce more trichomes in a dark cycle as opposed to a normal one. 2 days won't fix what 6-8 weeks of development have already done..

Most of the people I've heard say "put you're plant in the dark before you harvest", also say, "don't water you're plant for a while before you harvest, so it drys out and goes all resiny". 8)
