Heroin H seems less potent although it was IV'd

Where I live there's a couple different types of H that can be found, and I use to snort the good stuff which was sort of white-colored. The bad stuff is more brown/tan. I started injecting the bad stuff when they ran out of the good, but recently the good stuff was available again, and even though I injected it, it's not having much of an effect. Unlike the bad stuff, which leaves a lot of gunk in the spoon, this stuff dissolves completely. I was wondering if something might be causing this loss in potency or it's just my tolerance playing tricks on me. I also have a headache as if I had taken too much, but never got really high.
 
It's either tolerance or dealer shadiness. (i.e. the new batch is cut)

You cannot, in general, judge heroin purity reliably by color, smell, or consistency. Need to have it tested somehow.
 
It's just not the same stuff. It might look similar but that is just indicative of the cut. I've had heroin that looked like apple juice in the spoon that was bomb and also that was shit, i've had heroin that looked like chocolate milk in the spoon that was bomb and that was fake, i've had heroin that looked like it had crumbles of dog food in it be good, i've had heroin that looked like rust that was bomb as well as good and bad shit that mixed up black. You just can't tell.
 
Yea basically no way to tell without a chem lab. Like everyone has said, color smell and consistency mean fuck all. Typically the absolute best id get around here would be grey and compressed so hard its like a rock, would need to sit in a spoon w witer for a minute before i could crush it w the plunger. For the most part the dope like that was always good as i think it wasnt exactly easy to fake all the characteristics of it. But regardless, its so tough to tell without actually doing it or having it ran thru a lab.
 
BTW, I've had a headache since yesterday, and today I was nodding out and even feeling nauseous after one hit I took this morning. I feel hardly anything initially. Maybe a small rush and a short-lived, mild high. Was the headache caused by the H even though I didn't get much out of it?

Also, I figured this stuff was more pure because it all gets sucked up, while the other shit left a lot of gunk.
 
how do you know that snorting is any better? have you tried to snort and shoot the same shit and compared the effects?
