GTA IV PROBLEMS.. and solutions

I was wondering exactly how many of us are having problems with GTA IV freezing up our systems. could someone please make this a poll? i am trying to get a idea of how massive this problem really is.


PS3 20 gig locks up

ps3 40 gig locks up

ps3 60 gig locks up

ps3 8 gig locks up

i have also tried the "fix" that take two put out yesterday and thought it was going to work, but after a few hours of trying to reclaim my game completion, the SOB locked up again.

i really hope they release a patch or something to fix this because this is shit!
 
buzzkill for you guys got a 360 version hasnt frozen yet. After posting this though it probably will, knowing my fantastic luck.
 
I have a PS3 80gig and my rankings will not save in multiplayer. I've read on a couple sites of people having the same problem. I haven't heard that adressed on this thread. It sucks i was a 3 and didn't turn off my system for 2 days because i didn't want to lose it. Takes alot of kills to get high, alot of time. Day to night to day quick. Played like 15 hrs the other day and didn't even really feel like putting down the controller.

This is gay, i really dont want to start at 1 again, and why in the fuck did it put me on one??? It should have put me at a 0 if it's gonna fuck up. The crazy thing is my caracter is still wearing level 3's hat and clothes.

I also have a zombie too.

Why isn't there a server room where you can pick which room to join or make.

I wonder if Take Two is going to fix this shit. Fuck it imma get on and hurt some people with headshots
 
i had one freezeup (xbox360) after exiting the game through dashboard after being arrested to avoid losing all my weapons, when i loaded the game back up i paused to bring up the map/gps and the sreen went black and froze. I guess it was kinda my fault, but after a reboot the game has worked fine and no problems since.
 
I have not had any problems with my PS3 copy of GTA and my friends who got the 360 version have not had any lock ups. Perhaps there are some defective discs out there?
 
i have the 60 gig ps3 and have had to do multiple re=installs and have lost a few games one of which being 36 percent complete. very frustratin. anyone else haveing this problem search for GTA:X :X :X IV fix and you will find what take two ha released in order to help try and fix this bug. i did it to mine and only one freeze on no lost game data so so far so good
 
I had an issue with the game freezing on my PS3, but that was only when I was powering off the system using the hard power button on the back of the unit. After I began powering down using the controller, or the front sensor, leaving the red light always on... My problem disappeared.
