Hello everyone this is my first plant which has sprouted but the sun has seemed to have gone away and I'm afraid it might die, so i hooked up 2 lights a 50W and a 20W temporarily in a container with foil all on the inside until the sun returns will this work or is my plant going to die?

yah it's doing alright now, started growing again, going to be under 24 hour light till I can get it 15-20 inches tall.

I would gradually switch it to 18-20 hours per day by the end of week 2 or 3. Gotta let it sleep - stressed plants have a higher rate of turning male. And 70 watts incandescent is fine for now, but a good bluish fluorescent works great as a veg light to supplement the sun. Compact fluorescents are pretty cheap now; if it lists a spectrum choose as close to 7000 Kelvin as possible for veg. Your plant will enjoy 2 CFL's (100W equiv.) to replace those incandescents. Also, shiny foil is good to reflect stray light back to your plant, but if your walls are painted in "flat white" then they're already plenty reflective and you don't need the foil.

Wow thats some really weak lights, if I was growing using lights id use 400w or 600w haha. Probably 400w on younger seedlings. Just remember its a plant that grows outside, itll be fine if its a little overcast. Im growing outside because if its the season the sun will be much superior to any light setup.
