Hi everyone. I've been a lurker for years but finally decided to grow a pair and register for an account. Even when I'm not tripping (the overwhelming majority of the time) I love to be around people are tripping, read trip reports, and read books on psychedelics. When I was 17 I bought a copy of Mandelbrot's "The Fractal Geometry of Nature" which I recently rediscovered while emptying some old boxes out of my parents' house.
Speaking of my parents, one time while visiting my folks back in the midwest, my dad was telling me how he had to wait a couple hours to get looked at in the ER after a motorcycle accident. Apparently some guy had taken some LSD and they were having a hard time calming him down. I said "it's too bad they didn't just give such people benzodiazepines back then." My dad's eyes went humorously wide and he started staring at his hands while waving them in front of his face and said "yeah, maybe then he could have enjoyed the acid a little bit..."
It really is like they say: "the acorn does not fall far from the tree."
